right, so now that I can see what's going on here, allow me to explain

1. there are like, 20 mods total that have to not only look after every channel, but also respond to every ticket, some of us work on other stuff (I am the one who manages and maintains Slothbot which is not a simple task). It's not reasonable to expect us to check every channel constantly.

2. all of us mods are volunteers. This isn't our full-time job. We spend our free time to look after the server. We also have responsibilities outside of the server and not every second where we're online means we're scanning through every single channel.

3. We have Slothmail, another bot I manage, to let people directly contact us to let us know if they ever need help with anything or if any problems occur. The person you are referring to, jacob, didn't make a ticket at all, so I couldn't have even talked to him about it. If he opens a ticket, I'm more than happy to look into what's happening and deal with it.

4. At any given time we have tonnes of tickets to go through every day. It is not possible for us to respond to every ticket and watch every channel, all of the time. That's why we rely on people making reports to let us know when things are going on so we can deal with it.

If there was drama in the channel and no mod happened to catch it, I am sorry for that, and if someone had pinged a mod it would have been resolved immediately. But I don't think it's fair to myself or the other mods to be denigrated for the one instance where we didn't happen to be checking a channel and disregard the amount of work we put in every day in our free time, for years. You're welcome to ask Alex yourself, he's been around long enough to know the mods and that we wouldn't just let people get away with misbehaving if we knew it was happening.
