it's a glitch right now. hopefully they will find a fix for it soon. my friend and i are trying to figure out how to reliably reproduce it so we can bug report it... it seems to affect mobile users more often, but it has hit everyone

Host status doesn't change your odds at all. The game literally rolls everyone in the lobby on a fresh random seed every round and assigns impostors off that. It doesn't "remember" who was host or who got it last game. (sounds kinda nerdy, …heh 🤓)

Because it's just basic RNG, this is when streaks happen. Four, five, even six in a row is rare but is very much possible. It feels rigged when you're watching it, but it's just how RNGs clump.

Though, I cannot have a say for every time someone gets an Impostor streak, it is 100% legit, especially if they get it like 12 games in a row, now THAT would be in my mind, "hacking", because the odds of getting it, especially in 15-player lobby where anyone else except you could've gotten picked as the Impostor, just makes it obvious that you're hacking, and also the instant sabotages and 0KCD.

Tips for When you see soneone fake a task.

• don't call a meeting. It can wait til someone else reports. Waiting for someone else to report or call a meeting makes you look more proffessional
• don't blurt out they faked a task. It gives them a chance to make up an alibi (counter excuse)
• Trick them into admitting it. Usually with tasks yall don't have. You can ask "hey that download looked awfully short (or long), did you actually do it?

If yall did have DL tasks then you have to explain why you think they faked

Gonna disagree with this. If you have caught an imp and are certain of it call a meeting asap and hard accuse that player providing your reasoning. If it is early game it should be a free eject.

Giving that imp time to kill is obviously not good. Waiting for a meeting to be called for another reason means that crew can easily get distracted by whatever the reason that meeting got called and the imp you caught will live

Download isn’t a common task though so there’s no tricking them into admitting to doing a download

Impostors getting caught shouldn’t be a coincidence but a revelation. If you know for sure if someone’s faking a task, do not hesitate to button.

The real solution though is: Dont play in lobbies where imps are so bad they cant fake tasks properly. "Gotcha" gameplay isnt fun for anyone but you.

What do you mean by waiting for someone else? You’re just giving the Impostor the opportunity to get in unnecessary kills in which shouldn’t be kills at all.

Just play a high game volume. You will eventually win by sabotage. Those wins are rare but not nonexistant.

Remember that game ending sabotages are kinda for the endgame. Do not ruin your teams game by spamming these sabs.

it comes and goes. i been playin for years and there's a cycle to it. there will be a period of time where almost every single pub is showing off the absolute worst of bad pub behaviour: sussy names that just barely bypass the censor when they shouldn't because of... creative.... spelling, spamming random crap instead of playing, outright trolling games by various... creative... methods, cheating, hacking, slurs, racism, sexism, homophobia, misogyny, politics, bringing up (or naming themselves after) bad dead historical world leaders who are better off dead and really don't need to be mentioned in a game, or just generally being otherwise toxic or disruptive... and then after a while it swings back around and the pubs are sane again... you still get the bad ones of course, but there's a much higher ratio of players that at least play and aren't there just to be dum to try to get a rise out of internet strangers because yay anonymity.

1. I get kicked out sometimes right when the body is reported
2. The touch response is so awful. It doesn't sometimes register two touch at once. For example when I move while viewing map as a crewmate or a tracker.
3. Names are visible through the walls, so imposter with long names are in disadvantage.
4. Occasional blackout when starting game. Only host can load the game.

There was a bug where mobile players could still report dissolved bodies upon resuming the game.I believe that was fixed, with the explanation that the bodies are still technically there, just invisible, anf and mobile unintentionally bypassed the disabled reporting.

Currently what I'd like to test, but haven't a good way to do so, is all three of the following conditions together:

-Both Viper and non viper in the game

• NON viper kills
• Report NON viper kill AFTER it would be dissolved IF it had been a viper kill

guardian angel - first to die can put a shield on a living crewmate that protects them from death one time

…Among Us has a report system for EXACTLY this sort of reason. If you see it, don't shrug and don't argue with the host, just report and leave. Innersloth's moderation is slow sometimes, but they do action blatant hate and repeat offenders.

Tolerating it is how it keeps spreading.

So last night we took off viper and had no issues. This morning still playing with no viper, report body ban glitch still happened.
Dealing with the black screen glitch when someone leaves during loading, engine/imp vent glitch and now reporting body glitch, this game needs to be revamped. It seems as if people report these issues and nothing gets fixed. We were supposed to have small patches, to fix this stuff and we have yet to see them.
I’m going on 3 months not being able to play on my original account, because of a “guardian email glitch”. There’s never any answers!

The point is to ban people who won't be enjoyable to play with before the game starts.

People saying "start" in lobby (or various evasions of the word) are showing what kind of lobby they're looking for. Fast paced, nk discussions, half the lobby leaving before first meeting. That's what they're showing they want.

So hosts that don't want that send them to another lobby to find that.

Depends on what kind of public lobbies you join. In my experience, stay away from skeld lobbies unless they have certain settings that aren't the typical beginner one. Polus lobbies are usually the least braindead by a majority.

while, yes, public lobby players do tend to prefer faster games because they're, y'know, on a grind—I proudly claim to be one of them as my friends don't play the funny bean game—that's not necessarily a bad thing. the bad thing is when that fast pace comes at the expense of rational gameplay, which the "public lobby playa" stereotype reflects

I personally prefer fast games because I play on Mira HQ, which prides itself on having an interconnected vent system and the door logs, which can either overpower you to the point of no return, or be the complete masterminds of navigation and alibi construction. quick thinking is extremely important on Mira HQ, so when you're able to do that at such a fast pace, you demonstrate that you are adept ||(hi, that's me, that's my username)|| at the map

I just had the perfect game.
I'm viper, I get one kill in bottom decom on Polus, I loop around the map and then go back and get another kill the same round. Someone was tracking me and saw me get the second kill. They try to pin it on me but I turn it neutral by saying I never saw a body when I went down, trying to turn it on them.
A round goes by with no kills and then next round I decide to kill next to the person who had blamed me. We tie the vote between skip and me, then I pull the same trick again and win

In my personal case, I do use BanMod. Which does have a little imperfection in that it uh, doesn't understand context.

It saves me the bother of manually kicking/banning, but does also catch false positives.

When BanMod does a false positive on me, I generally go into its settings and remove them from its ban list immediately (and add them to its friend list if they were an especially disappointing casualty).

But now the option to express yourself gets rid of some of that anonymity and others opinions can now be used as hate. Im done using a pride nameplate. Im just here to play. People who insult when they have nothing to go in is no big deal, but when they have proof to use accurate insults, then id rather not deal with that.

Ehhh I've done this. Always do it to the 10th player (I only play in 10 cap lobbies. 2v8 is perfection). There's a stupid delay between switching to private and the lobby no longer showingup on people's searches.
