Proximity chat is accomplished through a program called BCL, it allows you to speak with people in game—and they get quieter as you get further.

I began playing on private lobbies on other among us discord servers, I was not prepared for everyone to be so tryhard. Admin constantly being watched, sabotarges being fixed in seconds, always polus, everyone somehow making sense of what everyone is saying in vc, and so soo much more.

One time, I was imposter and I somehow was voted out despite doing nothing suspicious at all, no killing, venting, or anything imposters do. I was just faking tasks in an appropriate amount of time to complete.

People underestimate how often low-probability stuff does happen just by sheer repetition. Like yeah, the odds of getting impostor 3 times in a row are around 0.24% if you're assuming a 1-in-10 chance per round and complete independence, but in a game where you might play 20+ rounds in a session, those rare events pop up more often than you'd expect.

It's like flipping a coin and getting heads five times in a row - not common, but absolutely possible in a decent number of trials.

Finally someone else who gets it. The moment you hit 7 with 2 impostors on Mira HQ, you're basically sitting on some imaginary landmine with a timer you can't see ticking down. This isn't Skeld, where cams give you basic movement info, or Polus, where you've got vitals and a semi-open map with high visibility.

Mira HQ is a trap if you don't know how to read it. It's built to reward impostors who know how to abuse line-of-sight gaps, sensor timing, and full vent access. And being real, most public lobbies don't know how to use doorlogs properly (obviously), which means the impostor team can isolate, kill, and vanish without leaving even a logistical breadcrumb.

The map's linear structure forces crew into funnel points: Decontam, Locker, Cafeteria, or the "inverted Y" - and every single one of those chokepoints is exploitable if the impostors know how to time rotations/bait movement.
A smart impostor duo can create full diversions, split the group by faking tasks in either Launchpad or Greenhouse, then double back through the vents and kill in places like Office or Medbay where nobody checks unless a body's reported.

The vent system covers every major zone with zero restrictions. There's no split system like Polus or so. You kill in Greenhouse, and three seconds later, you're in Launchpad faking fueling. Like I said, ain't no breadcrumbs, meaning there's no traces of which. There's just confusion and a bunch of crewmates saying “maybe it's pink?” out of sheer helplessness.

I feel like in a public lobby yeah Mira is a death zone, but a private lobby with good communication of "I just saw someone here, so how did they get over there" is helpful. Of course if nobody saw them go anywhere then that doesn’t help as much and you’re stuck with the logs as your only tool to prove someone vented by not passing the sensors to get to a certain area. But also impostors can just destroy the logs with a simple comms sabotage

Personally, I fully support voting on 9 with 3, 7 with 2, and yes - even 5 with 2 in some cases if no one's talking. Mira doesn't give you the so-called "luxury" of time.
If you let impostors play unchecked past 7, you're already playing catch-up - and on Mira, catch-up means you're in Launchpad doing fuel while two bodies drop in Admin.

From what I know if a meeting is called while you're inside a vent, and someone has that specific vent for cleaning, the game still thinks you're inside the vent.

with that said, I think the rhetoric of "buying isn't owning" is being taken at face value now. there's a very specific context that this applies to that is being taken out of proportion to mean that we shouldn't pay for things because we have a perceived value of them. consumers are what drive markets in the first place, so if the goods being sold really aren't worthwhile, then there'd be way less people buying. this isn't meant to be a justification for all piracy, it's a moral precedent that companies' shady business practices are fueling.
