Scientist isn't flashy, but it's one of those roles that's only as good as the player behind it. The whole point isn't just watching vitals - it's using them intelligently.
If someone dies and you catch the moment on vitals, that's already better than half the lobby who has no idea when it happened. It helps you mentally cross-check alibis, confirm or deny timing, and narrow down who was where when it mattered.

The battery forces you to move and do tasks, which is how you avoid just camping vitals and being useless. People sleep on it because they expect instant value - but it rewards awareness, not impulse.
If you're just spamming vitals waiting to catch a death, yeah, you’ll feel useless. But if you combine it with actual game sense and timing, you become a quiet threat to impostors.

I only use sabotage if it's actually good for example I kill someone in nav and let's say the person in shields was about to head to nav but I call reactor, that diverts anyone anyway so I can pretend to group with a “said” person until a body is discovered.

But the Steam version gives you smoother performance, better controls, mod support (as Iniir mentioned), and faster typing.
So if you're into modding or just want the game to feel more polished, it's not a bad buy while it's on sale. Just depends on how much you'll actually use the upgrade.

Even a “2016–2017” Windows PC should handle it just fine.

Exactly, 5% only makes sense if you've got 1 impostor and 20+ players. Most lobbies have 10–15 players and 2 impostors, which means each player's chance is more like 13–20%, not 5.

If you're still barely getting impostor, it's either bad luck, a host using custom roles heavily, or a modded setup skewing the odds.

If you're making rules that outright punish standard, valid gameplay, then you're not hosting better - you're just making the game worse for everyone else. People don't queue up for Among Us to walk on eggshells because the host decided real mechanics don't matter anymore.

They probably won't add it, plain and simple. Cosmetic presets are a nice idea, sure - but it's not something the devs see as essential. Their time gets eaten up by bigger things: role balancing, anti-cheat updates, bug fixes, and whatever content they're actively working on to keep the game alive.

Little QoL stuff like outfit saving just doesn't move the needle for them. It's not about ignoring feedback - it's about priorities. And if it doesn't directly affect gameplay or revenue, it's likely going to stay on the backburner.

Among us has this "anti-ragequit" system that basically gives you a penalty if you leave a lobby mid-round, main reason why it really sucks is because it also punishes players who leave mid-round for normal reasons (like disconnecting). Also from my knowledge the penalty increases each time
