Server lobbies in AU can seriously suck sometimes - not because the game itself is bad, but because a lot of players treat public rooms like private hangouts with a locked guest list. You’ll see these hosts and their little friend group filling up most of the slots, then immediately banning anyone they don’t recognize - like, if you’re not on their friends list or haven’t played five lobbies with them before, you’re out.

No warning, no explanation, just kicked. And the wild part? They keep the lobby public. Like, if you’re that territorial over who’s allowed in, just make it private and send codes in DMs. But nah, they leave it open, act surprised when strangers join, and then punish you for daring to click “Find Game.” It’s biased, unfair gatekeeping that completely strips new players of the chance to actually join, play, and maybe become part of the group.

Instead, it just breeds frustration and makes the public matchmaker feel more like a firing squad than a game lobby.

You really can’t fully avoid newgen lobbies in public matches - it’s part of the gamble when you queue up. But if you’re genuinely trying to escape the chaos of no-cooldown speedruns, random bans, or the infamous “start or ban” threats, it just comes down to recognizing the patterns.

Look for lobbies hosted by people with normal names instead of all-caps nonsense, and stick to Expert tags when possible - even if they’re not perfect, there’s at least an attempt at structure.

And honestly, if they weren’t newgen chaos, they’d probably make the lobby private or post it somewhere organized like Discord. Public lobbies just aren’t built for consistency anymore.

Yeah, that one’s been around for a while. It’s not really just a “bug” in the casual sense - it’s more of a server desync issue baked into how Among Us handles event priority between local input (you pressing the button) and server-side kill confirmation.

When both actions (reporting vs. killing) happen nearly simultaneously, the server has to decide what went through first - and sometimes that delay leads to those awkward “ghost-with-a-body” moments.

You'd have to check if one event is sent and then allow the other if that event has been sent and it's such a tight gap that it was probably overlooked

It’s a rare timing bug - basically a race between the kill and meeting call.
Fixing it would need a full server-client event sync overhaul, which is a lot for a visual glitch that doesn’t break gameplay.
That’s likely why it keeps getting overlooked.
