One second you’re vibing mid-lobby, next second you’re banned for asking a basic question or disagreeing with a random rule they made up on the spot. A good host isn’t power-hungry - they’re consistent, fair, and know how to read the room. They don’t over-police every move or let their ego dictate who stays and who goes. I think it was because back then (or at least around 2020 I believe), most of us, if not everyone I think were pretty much similar to the modern public player, or something similar.
As we played and played more, everyone (or at least a good chunk of people) began learning more and more.

I admit it, I was dum when I began playing.

You second-guess what used to be no-brainers. But what bothers me more is how roles shifted the pace of deduction. Instead of focusing on what actually happened or building a timeline, people start role-guessing like it’s a poker game. “Oh, maybe they’re Engineer, maybe Scientist, maybe Guardian.”

Half the time people are wrong, and it muddies the whole point of making good reads. It doesn’t really help when someone claims a role either, because unless you saw the ability used yourself, it just becomes another unprovable claim - and at that point, you’re not solving, you’re just gambling.

Danger isnt really about the duration of the window of opportunity presented to imps but the impact that getting killed will have.

A body on manifolds is likely to not get noticed for minutes if at all

A body on start reactor will get noticed in a way shorter amount of time.

Like on Polus I and many others can do a node in about 2-4 seconds. But no one in their right mind does Death Valley Node round 1.

A task being tucked away doesn’t automatically make it more dangerous if it’s over in five seconds flat. With manifolds, sure, your body might sit there a while, but you’re barely there long enough to blink. Meanwhile, Simon Says holds you hostage - and if you die mid-task, not only is it obvious, but now someone else has to finish that cursed pattern too.

A short task in a low-traffic zone doesn’t outweigh a long one that locks you in with zero room to escape. It’s about how exposed you are, not just where you drop.

Future rounds, sure, start reactor is more dangerous than manifolds because you cant route your way out of the dangers that start reactor presents but you can route manifolds while imps are on cd at start of round.

Still, even IF we’re talking strictly round 1, I still say Start Reactor’s more punishing. Manifolds is quick - just 1 through 10. Even if someone messes up, you reset instantly and move on. Start Reactor isn’t just longer - it demands constant attention. It locks your focus, gives zero breathing room, and punishes the smallest misstep with a full restart.

And in round 1, when people haven’t settled into patterns or grouped up yet, you’re likely isolated in Reactor. That makes you a sitting duck. At least in Admin, someone’s bound to walk through. But for Reactor? You’re praying someone does. That isolation plus the task’s design is what makes it deadlier - not just where it is.

reminds me of this one match with a player with a 100+ level that was in way over their head.

I was regular crewmate on logs, when suddenly I see a shapeshifter of myself coming out of launchpad with a body next to it. I check the logs, frantically, to see who just passed the sensor and I came up with either Black or Green before the body got reported. I make the case that it is likely Green to the crew, but the offending player chimes in and states that no one saw two of me. I just barely survived with a tie, I think.

The next round, I camp logs vigorously. Another player heads into Communications with me to check logs as well; easy opportunity for the impostors to frame me or him. Suddenly, the shapeshifter frames me again, coming from Locker Room to avoid the sensors. They kill the other person in comms and I run down to chase them almost immediately afterwards. The offending player somehow does not see the clone run down before me, reports, and immediately jumps the gun without hearing my defense. A person they knew was clear also jumped in to support voting me off and assure that the offending player was clear, which I paid no attention to. I was mad at the offending player because by that point, they were just being cocky and ignorant. I voted myself, and with everyone's vote on me, the game displayed that I wasn't impostor.

That offending player did not move or speak the entire rest of the match, and when final numbers came about and she had to pick who to vote off, she voted for Coral…

…it was Black. The very same person that the offending player cleared. The kicker? Green was also an impostor and was voted out after I died. TL;DR:
Player on logs catches impostors twice using shapeshifter plays, but a high-level crewmate ignores all evidence, falsely accuses and gets them ejected. Ends up clearing the actual impostor (Black), and only votes randomly after. Turns out both Green and Black were impostors, - just like logs said from the start.

Crew lost hard, all because of ego and bad reads.

There was this time where i managed to deduce who both impostors were mid-game, i acussed one and yellow was like "i dunno could be you" but the impostor was ejected.
I acuse the 2nd impostor later on and yellow was still like "you're kinda sus, why should i trust you?" 😭

I had enough with the black screen bug.

Recently just earlier I was playing among us and got impostor roles but I get blackscreen bug causing everyone couldn't move it's always the impostor role crap thing happened, next I got this blackscreen bug again as host where I can still move and see but my players in my lobby couldn't move and everyone is leaving my server and left me alone it's unfortunate how this happen when I was host.

If any dev read this please I'm begging you to fix this right away I don't know how long I can take this I'm almost crashing out...

Trust me, every time I play HnS and I see download as one of my tasks, I scream internally.

Not only it takes between 9 to 12 seconds, it HAS to be done in one go, AND it's a 2 step task... It's also considered a SHORT task for some reason.

Short tasks in HnS remove 3 seconds from the timer... 3 seconds, for going trough the anxiety simulator (24 seconds worst case scenario), and not even counting the time to get to download, and then admin... All for 3 seconds.

At least Start reactor can be paused and takes like 5 seconds from the timer.

Once it's down to just 4, Seeker gains the seek map, and you want to avoid rooms.
Seek map is basically admin, so hallways and outdoor areas are """safe"""*

*Seeker can still find you, but can't track you outside or in a hall.

As for Seeker advice: Play on the computer version

If the hosts disables the flashlight mode, you quite literally won, just spam kill.

Honestly, some of these ideas are wild but kinda fun to think about. Flashlight in Classic could make kills way more intense - imagine missing a body just because your light wasn’t aimed right. That’d mess with your head hard. Stuff like role modifiers or dynamic cooldowns would be a cool shake-up too, especially for experienced lobbies that want more variety without just spamming roles.

The “color name mode” though… yeah, people would 100% mess that up. Someone would be named “Red” while actually playing as Lime, and chaos would follow instantly. It’s dumb in the best way possible.
