I feel like the Host should have an even more advanced settings so they can modify anything in their lobbies, especially in expert lobbies. For one, we need a Blocked keywords menu, where you can simply put “start” and any other variants of that word, and it’ll automatically save if they want to make a new lobby. They can immediately select the penalties for players who say “start”, 3 strikes you’re out, by default, it’ll look like, (1. Message deletion & warning, 2. another Message deletion + another warning, 3. Kick) and of course if the player somehow rejoins and says it again they will get auto-banned by the system. Of course these penalties listed above are by default, players can adjust penalties if needed, these are all the penalties players can receive, “Warning/Message Deletion/Kick/Ban”. Another thing a Host should have is the ability to disable cams & the admin table for expert lobbies, if they wish, since some people would still use cams even after the Host made it clear not to, and it’d be very annoying reminding people every single time to stop using cams, but again some people are smarter than this but just in case, and when someone tries to use cams, it’ll just show the Comms Sabotage screen for that and the admin table. Even if comms aren’t sabotaged or whatnot. Host can also disable Early emergency meetings, basically on the first round, to STOP TROLLS FROM ANNOYING PEOPLE, the meeting button will remain disabled until after a dead body is reported, making it less annoying for both crewmates & impostor. And if someone tries to click on the disabled emergency button it will be logged and announced by the game (like when a guardian angel protects someone but differently…), so players can still catch these meeting trolls from hiding. Anyways, that’s all the ideas I have for this, let me know of your thoughts!

It seems to me as if you had never read any rules of an expert lobby before and one of which being no security cams, now I get that it’s the “best” way to catch impostors but camping on is straight up baloney. Not because it's bad for players, but because randoms walking in and seeing colored names might submit hacking reports, and people who KNOW it's a mod might submit bug reports with the mod to Innersloth.

Neither of which I think they would be too happy to deal with if it becomes common...

I have a suspicion that the whole reason Host Mods got their public licence revoked were those reasons. Unknowing people reporting them as hacks, and knowing people sending bug reports to Innersloth instead of mod devs.

Phantom is for Impostors, it can temporary become invisible.
Tracker is for Crewmates, it can put a device on someone and track them for some time.
Noisemaker (Who wasn't mentioned) is for Crewmates, when they die, they send an alert to everyone, and an arrow to their body.

I just ran into that and I killed the app and proceeded to get banned for 15 hours 😭

This intentional disconnection durations are absurd, ranging from just a few minutes to a whole fucking day (to MY knowledge). At that point it isn’t even a timeout anymore you’re basically just banned for a day because you’ve received the black screen bug you closed the app reopen and BAM! you can’t play for another ridiculous amount of time. Honest they should make the maximum duration to 60 minutes/1 hour, but in your case 15 hours is very harsh, ngl, and I feel bad for you as well. istg among us really needs to step up their game, especially with differentiating between disconnects caused by an ERROR or caused INTENTIONALLY.

hmph yeah…and that’s what’s essentially why most meeting trolls call meetings on r1, whenever they don’t get the role they want, (most commonly the impostor role) they’ll go & call a meeting to basically trick the game into thinking the player’s being active and when they leave it won’t count that as an intentional disconnect, in short terms they’re circumventing the system

I still see so many people leave right when the game starts so I feel like the temporary bans aren’t known about very well. I read the release notes in the app (didn’t include the part about the temp bans, and at that time the link to the blog wasn’t working). Wild that I ran into this long of a ban when I usually stay through the end of the game. The only other time I disconnect is when I switch apps and it says I lost connection with the server or something

Either they need to rework the functions of the temporary ban system due to errors or shutdown the entire system (which will never happen but the more complaints the more likely they might do it).

I was banned for exactly 24 hours after disconnecting because AT&T was down in our area

Now it's back and there's the ban for "intentionally disconnecting"

One thing that I wish devs would chance is to be able to add players to your block list by their friends code….to many hackers, trolls and abusive players spam in and out to fast that on console with controller I can’t ban them before they are gone….also if they could make it where blocked players appear at top of lobby list of players so you could see them quickly without scrolling that would help. I’ve got sc of so many I wanna block cause they target lobbies but can’t cause they are never in game ….just cause havoc in lobby and leave before you can ban….only way currently to use friend code is to add someone …I def don’t wanna add someone to my friends list so I can block them…most are smart enough they wound never accept it so back at square one! Devs help us hosts please. So much could be done to make those of us that host and play daily and nightly to keep our lobbies safe and fun right now since the update the funneling of players has gotten so much worse..,tons of non English speakers in English lobbies cause they don’t see it in lobby listing as clearly as before the update….and some with expert and other level listed for lobby …expert lobbies are over run with brand new players without a clue…zero manner and horrible abusive language it’s been so much worse since the update.

You have the right to leave. There's just consequences for doing so. The time out is to discourage leaving, or I guess in some cases, playing with unstable internet.

They did state that leaving before the game ends starts getting counnted against you. If you leave often when you become a ghost, that may have contributed.

To be absolutely clear here: Game servers cannot distinguish leaving the game intentionally from a disconnect. To distinguish between the 2 would also be to open the doors for people to disconnect and never get punished for intentionally leaving games en masse.

I wish in Among Us, that you’d be able to have the ability to DM other players on your friends list, seems to me that some of the friends I have on AU apparently don’t know of or use Discord so I think that by adding a messenger feature people can actually communicate with each other, and before you ask, no it doesn’t work in-game, it only works in lobbies/outside of them because trying to reunite with the people you’ve recently played with seems like a challenge.

As they're not affiliated with this server, I can't directly link any.
