on the topic of roles, TOH arsonist exemplifies the problem I have with modded roles in general in that winning is entirely dependent on whether you are alive or not in a scenario where virtually all roles can kill you at any point in the game from anywhere

to win as arsonist in this mod, you have to douse everyone currently alive and vent once you do—if a person you already doused is dead you lose progress, but if a person not doused dies, your win condition is easier; if all the people you douse die, you have to douse more people, which makes it easier to be suspected as the arsonist

and if you die at any point during that, you fail; no questions asked

EHR arsonist is leagues better than TOH arsonist because it isn't a gauntlet of dousing; you can douse any of a number of people in each round that is set by the host, and vent at any time you want to kill the people you've doused, regardless of role—this change makes it more justified (albeit still unfair, as is the gambit of modded lobbies) if you die, because you are an active threat or miser to the win condition of all other players

running before the game reveals your role

before the graphics revamp in 2021, Among Us gave you full control of your character the moment the game loaded in (that is, when the "shh" screen appears)

so you could just walk off and get a head start immediately if you memorized map layouts and started the game in a good position

you can still run immediately after meetings and whatnot, but back then you could do it the moment the voting results showed up

I think the reason why it's fixed now is because Innersloth needed to revamp their movement system so that shapeshifter would not be able to move while selecting someone to shapeshift into

If you keep "spinning" the wheel, the task won't complete until you let go of RMB (idk if controller is the same behavior).

If you cancel out of the task while holding down RMB for spinning and the bar is full (aka would complete the task when you let go), you can't re-open it to complete it

This also has a chain bug that will glitch out your map and color it red when you're a crewmate, and green if you then open admin.

My personal thoughts:

Innersloth needs put a cap on the lobbies, like why make them say expert if you are gonna let anyone join? They also should add in a section like on the screen where you join where you can see rules and have to agree to them in order to join. It'd also be great if they'd fix the language filter, I'm constantly getting Spanish speakers in my English lobbies, and unfortunately I am dumb and only speak English. Or at least have an auto translator! And fix the black screen issues once and for all!

but its basically just a timing glitch, the imp kills just as the other person reports, and with ping desync the game gets confused which one to register first, so they both end up going thru

i see it occasionally, but i haven't seen it often enough to get mad over it. just a curiousity. for it to happen to you 3 times rapidfire like that is very odd

it is very blatantly obvious it has happened when the reporter themselves is the one who died. because then you get no info, and if the host is still alive to say so, they can see that the person has a red X on them, so the host can say "soandso died".

if it's not the reporter who died on report, it may get missed while crew discusses the others whom they actually saw on the death report screen

unless the host specifically says "hey soandso also died"

Ok if the reporter reported another dead body at the same time as the imposter killed the reporter , then that's a ping issue ig i get it ... but if the crewmate is dead and reports themselves .. that's when it gets weird and i think that could be a glitch that should be solved by innersloth

i mean there's such a skill ceiling involved in the game that some experienced players (of which im assuming you are one ) should get rewarded for it just like ranked games lmao

in addition to my relaxed mostly silly games i play every night, i play in a small tournament server that has tournaments 1-2 times per week.

the way i think about it to be is: If you're crewmate you get rewarded for voting the right imp every meeting or so ... doing tasks faster than others .. contributing to the win overall ...

impostor should obviously be how well you play the role and win the game lol

there are just one of the metrics innersloth can introduce to make a ranked game mode which i think could be so fun

like for example, the server i'm in... no excessive camping of vitals/admin/cams, altho you can use them. no declaring scan. imps get points for kills, crew gets points for voting out imps correctly. both teams get points for a win. etc and so on
