Job wise, he'd probably not have much that he wouldn't take care of himself. Aside from things he physically can't do without someone else, like blood samples to monitor/compare between impostors and crewmates.

He'll have King drag back some sample meat from crewmates now and then, for nutritional study. Which requires what Axl wouldn't do. Might benefit from stalking King though, since he goes out and 1 imps it. Not to eliminate a whole group. Just slip in, get 1-2 without being caught, and get out.

Since Axl isn't so keen on sharing to crewmates, just other impostors, but if he is offered something good, he'll cooperate with Cyan.

I've also made Axl the type that can produce different types of venom, those spikes are not cosmetics, they are real and very hard, as well as making them into needles, though he needs time to make other types of vemon that isn't his standard one.

Do you think Cyan would be interested in that and liked some samples?

Ironically to his name, poisons wouldn't really interest him too much beyond 'huh. neat'. Even the health monitoring is more of 'Blue's going to himself' curiosity.

He'd probably just get personal amusement from listening in on creative insults and watching other crewmates get told their place. Even if not shown their place.

Ah I see, though yeah, Axl would just be amused at how Cyan, a crewmate is just throwing himself out there without fear in front of an impostor compared to the other ones, he would have a laugh at it, telling Cyan to talk him when there is something of real interest, and maybe some fun.

She wouldn't be judging on looks, she'd be judging on that attitude. And... concerned about the terms of that agreement. Her goal is for there not to be any more dead beans, even if she has to concede that some casualties will happen on the way to that goal. Which isn't super compatible with an imp who behaves on the condition of being given dead bodies.

Her flowerpot is related to her views. She will (lightly) scold beans for picking (killing) flowers for cosmetics, hence hers being alive and potted!

Her excitement over King was a bit of a combo of factors.

The fact that Con already knew him, that he seems to respect his buddy's wishes, and the fact that with all those innocents ejected, they STILL failed to execute the actual impostor, so she could leverage that while she was pissed at Orange (and the crew he came with)

Half of that excitement was a big "SCREW YOU" to Orange lol

Axl really doesn't care for crewmates, they are just food, toys, animals to him, using them to his advantage, but at the same time, he will do honest work just for his reward at least, as per the agreement, he gets easy food, and he'll do the dangerous tasks.

Though he's mostly only gonna listen to other imps, like if Con tells Axl to escort a crewmate somewhere and protect them (Even though that's not something he does), he'll do it.

Con and King are opposites lol. The former is naturally suspicious of other imps. The latter will defend his fellow imps before caring about any crewmates.

Until he gets more development, at least

King gets the biggest change in attitude throughout. From classic impostor to much more nuanced.

The youngest of the current beans is Monty (and his brother). Coralline/Quilvest/Junkameno are of similar age to them. Late teens early twenties-ish, or whatever the bean equivalent is.

Liv would be pretty easy to annoy with that lol. But each time would be turning the initial unease into 'Okay, this is just a normal teenager being an edgy little shit' XD

Grey comes back to his polus every now and again (That being the polus in the universe he was in) just because he misses his crew. He knows he has no way of contacting any of them now so this is his best way to think about them instead

Grey and Lime are siblings, Lime being born via unusual circumstances.
3 days after Grey was born, a robot that was built (iirc) by the previous crew had gone rouge, killing 4 members of that crew, two of those being Grey's parents.
The crew evacuated and one member of that crew managed to retrieve the bodies of the 4 that were killed.
They were going to be buried, but given this is my Mira, that didn't happen, not for Grey's parents at least.
Their bodies were taken in for testing and dna samples were taken from both of Grey's parents, Mira combined them with some plant matter 10 years later and on the same day that Greygerneer was born (That being the 14th of March) Limestem was born. They used her for testing for the first 7 years before the events of the original plotline with Greygerneer's crew happened

As for Greygerneer, after they arrived back at Mira HQ, Mira had no idea what to do with Grey so they basically took him to some random city and left him there. Somehow Grey survived there enough to grow up and be able to live and function by himself. Because of how he grew up and the fact that he was biologically an impostor (Although never killing or eating anyone) he couldn't go to school so he learned engineering by himself and by 17 he went to Mira to get hired as an engineer.
Mira remembered him but obviously given he wasn't even 1 at the time he didn't remember who they were so shortly after getting hired he got sent to polus and thus began the plotline with Grey's crew which led up to them overthrowing Mira and meeting Lime and now we're where we are today with Grey and Lime now living in the Watcherverse in the Cave of Cosmos, Grey is popular within Crystal City, where he lives.

I've setup a two-fold conflict between crewmates and impostors. One part of the conflict can be solved with everyone being happy. The other half of the conflict isn't something so simple.

Impostors need crewmates, but the reverse isn't true. And crewmates are the ones that have to pay the price. So crewmates do have valid reason to dislike even the most innocent of impostors for simply existing.

in the case of Crew and I since we both have characters that are supposed to be imp 100% of the time, but the game obviously makes us crewmate most of the time, we both play it off with varying versions of "ok fine whatever, I'll do this silly little list of chores. see, I'm behaving?". so if we get scan we DO scan... but we try our hardest not to let a crewmate catch us mid scan, and make a big deal about the readings being "private, don't you dare..." if someone does manage to scan check us. because yes, the scan would logically reveal imp status.

But Imps aren’t supposed to be able to do tasks, so there’s valid argument that that result (or lack thereof) wouldn’t be cannon.

You need to be playing a modified version of the game in order to do any tasks as an impostor.

I’m pretty sure scan is often interpreted as detecting impostors because it’s the one task that, regardless of the settings, can prove someone is a crewmate.

The automatic centering is hard to fake the movement of, and anyone else with scan can get a “waiting for X”message that proves a scan is really being done.

Like, any bean you pass could be an Impostor and you dont know it. And (for my Impostors), they're so much more than just a parasite leeching off of its host- they live in near total symbiosis, classified as their own species. The only time a parasite takes complete control of its host is when its starving to death. What happens then is pretty much just the Impostor in hide and seek mode.

I feel like you can just order out or have freeze-dried food in containers so there's not always a need for chefs on smaller ships like Skeld

In my lore, Impostors have been around as long as crewmates/humanity has been.

The actual reason is that an asteroid with the parasites crashed onto Earth, said parasites began eating humans, and then adapted to sync with hosts. Shifters and Phantoms exist because of genetic mutations that became normal traits eventually, for the hosts benefit.

Shapeshifters are a gradient trait, from barely being able to shapeshift, to being able to nearly completely change their form. Theres also the rare imposter that doesn't have any shapeshifting abilities (aka isn't able to hide their mouth or their claws) ... but these don't usually survive very long
Not sure whether to make phantoms simple recessives or also a gradient trait yet

ooo i like this, my thing is that shapeshifters can shift into any bean that is an adult that theyve looked at. however, people that are more different than them (ie. a female shapeshifter shifting into a male bean) puts their body at higher risk of strain (the chronic condition from overexertion), and other forms that are too long, and the same goes for phantoms who are invisible for what their body percieves is too long.

sometimes these opposite forms generate some imperfections.

yeah, in my terminology, shapeshifter refers to the impostor variant who can change their physical appearance to that of someone else.

i also incorporated the "ss skin" into my lore

like the ss evidence u can turn on or off

basically what it is is its this thing shifters leave behind when they shift/unshift, its the base of the casing that they shift inside. the shapeshifter in question can eat it for nutritional benefits, and even temporary relief if they suffer from some symptoms of shifter strain. if it looks misshappen or discolored, its one of the first indicators of some health problems.

Another follow up, about a week later, i thought of having those spikes be like nutrient storage (Kinda like how camels has it) so it's cracking and falling apart since he hasn't eaten for a week.

Axl is keeping himself on the edge of the lava pit, to keep himself away from crewmates, he's really really hungry, but this is something Liv wanted, for everyone to get along, so Axl is gonna keep that promise.
