Right now the game is in a terrible state where it's more so a guessing game than a social deduction game

You have vigilante which people just randomly kill with, deputy which people also randomly kill with (also adds RNG to the game where if you have 3 people left and know who the imposter is you have a 1 in 3 chance of just losing because the imposter is deputy), scanner which just tells you if someone is clear or not with no chance of the scan being inconclusive and a bunch of people just going next to the vents and spamming their hands triggers to clear themselves. Something's gotta change

yeah the role design in this game is terrible. the main issue is that all roles can do their thing without any risk whatsoever. OrangE made a really good video about role design in an au mod and if you watch it its clear that none of the roles in au3d require you to take very minor risk, if any at all.

fortunately i dont think this game needs good role design to be good, or any roles outside crew and imp to begin with. i think better map design would benefit the game much more in the long run

It's not a really good solution though. There's no server browser it's just random plus once someone joins and sees nobody there, they just leave.

I've been trying to do that this entire time. Some roles I don't mind like tracker and engineer (when it isn't maxed out) I just think the roles need restrictions. First of all I think infinite kill should just be gone for vigilante, scanner should have a chance of failing and using up the scan and deputy should get a skip option and can't be given to imposters on top of that there should be a limit to how many roles you can have compared to your player count. No more than half the lobby should have roles
