nta slate would be nice for belly heat :))
I’m using some similar to slate rocks for the basking area. i just got like two bricks and put them on the sides and then have the slate things on top and below, functioning like a hide for cryptic basking and also full on basking.
i got my plants at michael’s, if you’re not doing a bio active setup then these work great. you have substrate so you can just poke the base into the substrate and they should stay.
my boy is on paper towels right now so it’s a little difficult and i also bought some cute fake succulents and an underground hide so the enclosure will be adjusted slightly when i add substrate.

i’d highly recommend the rock basking platform thing charmander loves it!!! i caught him napping on top 🧡
Sameeee my gecko loved to get some belly heat from the slate I have bellow the hot spot after I turned off the lights. She was chilling there for like 1-2 hours
