i went to hold my gecko for a bit, and i noticed that her scales are really dark. like darker than normal. not dull so she’s not shedding (at least i think)
the photo before was around two weeks ago, and the photo now is today.

Color can darken when exposed to Uvb over time so that could very well be what is happening,
As for the biting her hind leg if you mean the right, it does look a but swollen but it could very well be the angle or her chunky frame, she is also missing toes so she may be noticing that nta

Nta unfortunately you would need a x ray to be for sure, especially if it’s for the animals health as it is something needed to diagnose a possibly troubling diagnosis that can impact the animals health.
What is your supplementing schedule looking like and what kind of uvb are you using?
Its import to catch MBD early before it becomes visible because at that point there isn’t any fixing the damage done Nta

i know and i wanted to but my dad said no. and now he’s been trying to cheer me up but this really took a toll on my anxiety
if im being honest, i just bought the uvb and it arrived tuesday. people have said to only use calcium so i have, but now i bought uvb. its linear, 5.0 or something like that.
she gets calcium without d3 in her enclosure, and calcium with d3 in her food every 1-2 meals. but now we have to start doing it with every meal

Nta so, now that you have uvb you won’t have to use calcium with D3 so much, you should primarily be using calcium without D3 inside her tank and her feedings.
Calcium With D3 is used less but still used, and you also have multivitamin in schedule.
I would really urge saving up for x rays, to see if it really is mbd and how far it is in progression to get an idea of the severity. We as owners need to be willing to get tests done for the animals health.
I will provide a schedule that is a good example of calcium with D3, without D3 and multivitamin rotation.

yeah we’re saving up now. we’ve had a few family troubles so a lot of money went to like hospital bills and stuff. i’m willing to do it, but of course we need to plan it smart
