#Choice based handling and interactions with inactive gecko

So I've been trying to get my gecko to interact more, or at least not spend all her time in the cold hide where I can't see her. I wanna use choice based handling and other such techniques that are respectful of the animal. But how do I go about it with a leo that is never active ?

The rare times I see her and she approaches me she climbs on my arm and shoulders no problem. But she is just never active on her own. She barely gets out of hide to get food and then hides again.

It feels like an endless cycle of building trust, she trusts me, she hides a few weeks. Rinse and repeat.

She may just not be a gecko who is super interactive. Leos in general are sorta like that.

You can’t really force them to be active or anything
