my first thought was eggs but they're way too small to be gecko eggs (comet also isnt even a year old i dont think) and theyre too big to be isopod eggs
They kind of just look like mushrooms to me but Im not sure photos are kinda fuzzy but NQA.
mushrooms are a cute sign though
i can get better photos when I'm home from school!
mainly wondering if they're dangerous/need to be removed asap
most mushrooms arent dangerous and are a good sign of a good ecosystem
OH cool!
honestly idk why im surprised that mushrooms grew in the dampest part of the tank- but i guess it's more so how they did
why did they grow so fast, what
yesterday the large one was maybe an inch long(??) but now it's definitely like tripled in size
hopefully these photos are better?
as far as im aware, mushrooms/fungus are a natural part of a tank ecosystem especially if it’s bioactive! i always notice them pop up in the first few months of the tank running its course (rn my cresties tank has many at the bottom :) )
feel free to remove it if its an eyesore or if you don’t want it there! more ventilation can make them less likely to grow but overall not harmful and a totally normal part of having nutrient rich soil.
i see! thank you :3
so in short its a sign your tank has a happy and healthy ecosystem! congrats!
they do like triple in size overnight so i pluck them from my crestie tank just cuz they grow sooooo fast hahahaha
yeah i was not expecting to come back to take photos of the mushrooms and have them be so much bigger
LOL yeah they get huge very fast!
well its cool that theyre there :3 i was mainly asking here to make sure that they wouldn't be at all dangerous!
it has been only a few hours and the largest mushroom looks like it's shriveling and dying and the smaller mushrooms are definitely bigger and i will wake up to much larger mushrooms tomorrow
Yea their lives are short lived but their kinda cool to see
these look like fairy inkcap mushrooms
Each mushroom is it’s own growth, there are no shared stems or bases.
