i had trouble with getting bad sand before so i got new sand, i have black desert sand from exo terra and zoo med excavator clay burrowing substrate.i was going to mix it 30% black sand and the other 70 the other sand and then add water? is this ok?

you will want topsoil or reptisoil to mix with the sand! excavator clay is also a good additive but it should only be like 10% or so of the mixture.

So your final mixture should be 70% organic topsoil / 30% desert sand
Or if you're adding some clay

60% organic topsoil / 30% exo terra desert sand / 10% excavator clay

sadly cannot be just sand and clay alone.
