I used some gorilla glue clear contact adhesive on my vivarium to secure a loose panel, how long until it’s safe to put my gecko back in?? I completely forgot about off gases, like a fool

also when I removed him from the tank he freaked out and fuckin launched himself out of his tank (about 2-3ft drop)- will he be okay???

Per the Gorilla Glue website, for that specific product, it does say 24 hours for a full cure time.

#

On the gecko, how is he acting now? are we showing any signs of swelling? are we moving normally?

I would continue to monitor him and make note of any changes, but he physically he appears to be fine.

Gorilla Glue can withstand dumb amounts of high heat before releasing fumes, which is 350°F for short periods of times. Which, your enclosure certainly does not reach those temperatures.

#

What I am concerned about is prolonged exposure to heat and not having proper ventilation. Do you have a window in the room the enclosure is in? I'd suggest opening that up.

#

It can cure normally as long as the heat doesn't exceed 140°F, which, again, your enclosure is nowhere near that temp wise.

#

Did you use the glue on the outside or the inside of enclosure?

Like it’s been 2+ hours since I glued it so I’m not smelling it anymore but I want to check it’s not going to harm him if I put him back in the tank

There is always a risk, but in all honesty, it should be fine.

#

Your enclosure won't reach temps around 350°F to release fumes.

Do continue to monitor him. ♡
