i haven’t been over to his place since getting the heat mat, tomorrow i’ll ask my bf if he installed it. the heat mat came with spacers for the bottom of the tank as well

hi, can you state the measurements for the tank & what wattage the heat lamp is?
a heat mat is an improper way to provide warmth and should be removed altogether as overhead heat is all thats needed & the proper way to provide warmth.
add more coverage & true hides

it'd also be good to get this guy checked out at a vet and get thermostats on both sides of the tank so you can see ambient temperatures

i can also see that you have added crickets in a bowl. crickets are best fed with tongs or with their legs removed so they are slow enough for the leo to catch them NTA

Nta unfortunately gallons isn't really a good system when it comes to reptile enclosures as a 50gallon can be smaller then a 40gallon in some situations hence why getting actually measurements are important! Thriving minimum is 36x18x18
