Hi all, I ordered this lighting and I have a 60x18x18 reptizoo enclosure. I don’t have my Leo yet but I’m trying to make sure the enclosure is ready for him. I have the heat lamp hanging and the two UVBs diagonally on the mesh. The LEDs aren’t set up yet. I’m looking for advice on how to organize the UVB and LEDs on top of the mesh… so I just put both diagonally across? I don’t want to block the heat lamp or have it melt the housing for the UVB/LEDs.

Also I grabbed the heat lamp from the shopping list but the dome for it that was suggested on chewy seems too small? Both were 5” so I thought it would fit better.

I am using the herpstat spyderweb 6 and I have plenty of clutter hides etc on the way.

Any advice appreciated please, thank you!

NTA but you shouldn’t have the uvb on both sides! Only the basking spot side 💞💞
I also believe you only need one uvb

Unless that’s two enclosures
I can’t tell if it’s two side by side or one

i do usually recommend an 8.5 inch dome over the 5 inch ones just for slightly better spread :O

The enclosure is two 30x18x18 combined but yes I’ll be using it as one 60x18x18. Ok, will ditch one of the UVBs, they are Arcadia 12.5” because I was thinking I needed it on both sides. The heat lamp is Arcadia goldensun halogen 100W.

Ok so I’ll swap out the dome for a larger one, thanks both!

Should I get a longer UVB in this case so it covers that whole portion of mesh on the right side? Or is the smaller one enough?

the smaller one is fine. that's standard. it doesn't need to stretch the whole way or anything of the sort. you generally want to pair it with the heat lamp on the hot side to create that nice basking spot of sunlight for them.

i'd just monitor it and see how it reacts. sometimes i find different wooden objects like to mold and stuff Q_Q (i had two of the same types of wood in my tank once and one molded and the other didn't)

Ok thanks for the heads up, will keep an eye on that. Might not end up using it but been ordering a bunch of stuff so we can play around with building it out.

nod my favorite thing to do is get the basic like black hides, bury them in the dirt and then cover that with rocks and wood!

I actually didn’t know he could peek out of the log I got him for his bio build but under that and the rocks on that side is his cool hide!

Love that, thanks for the inspo. We have a bunch of slate on the way, working on picking out more wood/cork to order tonight. Planning on getting him in about a week, but since he’s going to be in quarantine in his old tank for a bit I figured we have time to build this one a bit more
