I just got a different wood from a store for him and I baked it will this be good for his clutter and coverage until I can sort something out with a new enclosure

Nta but that will be alright for now! But some fake plants could also add more coverage! You can get them from craft stores they tend to be cheaper then buying from pet stores!

Now she wants me to buy “reptile wood” because it doesn’t smell

Nta she is not going to like the soil after quarantine.. She sounds like my mom 😭

But, buy cork in bulk. Its better then buying the pieces singly from my experience but its also gonna have some kinda smell depending on how sensitive your mum is to smell. Its wood...

Nta but i'd try to explain that all wood (especially under heat) will have a smell and its vary important for the animal to have said coverage, maybe show her some examples in enclosure inspo because if she's distressed by the wood, she's not gonna like the substrate after quarantine 😭

She sounds like my mother lol

And now my enclosure has little to no coverage again

; -; she must be really sensitive to smell-- if she wants you to buy reptile wood, go for it. Just tell her its going to be more expensive in the long run nta
