guys I have a question, I heard from a friend that if I want to feed my leo with giant mealworms I would need to smash the mealworm head so that it wont hurt the animal, is that true? like it sounds kinda exagerated, he also said that its rare but he heard some cases that the animal got the belly hurted by the mealworm 💀

NTA, but for mealworms, no.

for future reference you don't need to post a question more than once

#

(its being answered in another channel don't worry)

ye, its cause i thought I did wrong cus I remembered that when I asked a question in the chat they said to me to ask it here, but it was long time ago

#

I will delete the post here

solemn estuary

it is preferred to ask here! but since you posted in leos already its best to keep it in one place

surreal creek

ye, also ty for answering me

solemn estuary
#

no problem at all!

surreal creek
#

as we are here I have another question

#

My vet said that my gecko is too small for her age, I thought I was feeding her well but my mom insisted to me to give her more food, I was feeding like 1-2 roaches per day or like, if she doesnt wanted to eat I just skip the day, it was like 4 times a week 1-2 roaches, but my mom said to me to feed the maximum that my gecko can eat, now she is eating like 4-6 roaches per day and almost every day, Im almost sure its wrong but I need to be sure

how old is she?

#
  • could you send a photo of her standing upright on a flat surface?
surreal creek
#

surreal creek
#

solemn estuary
#

surreal creek
fluid sand
#

!weight

fluid sand
#

Yeah she does look a little skinny, to my untrained eyes

surreal creek
#

ye I have the weigh indicator but idk if its accurate

solemn estuary
#

ok so actually I'd take her to the vet and get xrays done

#

as well as swap out that substrate immediately for paper towel

surreal creek
#

ok

solemn estuary
#

has she been pooping regularly?

surreal creek
#

ye

#

its kinda solid to be honest

solemn estuary
#

I am not at all a professional or a vet however she looks bloated to me

surreal creek
#

Like i think its dryer than normal

#

is this normal?

visually she looks relatively okay to me. maybe a tiny bit smaller than ideal but nothing underweight.

#

also you're aware she's an albino yes

surreal creek
#

ty but I will feed her a bit more

surreal creek
#

I thought she was a jungle bell

livid sonnet
#

bell is the albino strain C:

#

Bell albino. named after the person who made the strain

surreal creek
#

oh

#

as u can see im kinda new in this

#

ty very much

#

I need more classes

#

cus I really want to know more

#

also peachy, the substrate, paper towel right?

livid sonnet
#

ye

surreal creek
#

I would rlly like to keep this one but prolly could dmg her so I will change it

livid sonnet
#

without fully up to date 100% proper husbandry loose subsrrate is not safe but that sort of substrate in general is not natural or safe nod

#

so paper towels is the safest option
