substrate mix

I’m at home depot looking to get new substrate. is this topsoil good even if I don’t bake it? and is this sand good? I use repti sand and repti soil and idk if i should switch or not🧍

repti soil and sand is fine, just more expensive!

for the soil, you actually dont want to bake it, you'll kill all of the good things in it along with the bad, itll get gross quicker. to tell if that soil is suitable you'll need to key one of the bags and physically check it! if it smells like manure, that's a no- and if you see any white/green/orange balls in it, that's also a no. if its just plain soil with nothing else, that's fine!

that sand is fine, just kinda a lot! you'll just want to be sure to wash it when you get it (even if it says washed)
