#I’ve been hearing it’s fine?

ive never heard any claims that reptisafe harms reptiles
tap water varies regionally. its always safer to use a dechlorinator
or just used bottled water
nqa i mean reptisafe has electolytes which can harm if overused but if you arnet basically giving them pure reptisafe and its a healthy animal its benefitial if anything
reptisafe also detoxifies ammonia and nitrites but if you need to worry about that in your tap water i wouldnt be drinking it anyway lol
i dont think this is true. its probably a claim made by zoomed but plenty of aquarium products make the claim that it detoxifies ammonia and nitrites (including seachem prime) but they dont actually have any cycling benefit
I use reptisafe and my animals are perfectly safe. And I use it in a water filter / dispenser. So it’s not just one tiny drop.
Please make sure to disclaim this btw
Just cus someone could read that and panic about it
Like I stated above though. Reptisafe is perfectly safe. Where did you hear it’s harmful.
before we got our r/o system/filtering system fixed at work, we used reptisafe for our tens of reptiles for a long time and never had any issues or health concerns due to it
true but the point isnt to give bacteria to aid in cycling its to make fish in cycles easy and to make water safe in emergencies
Idk who but form this server in general
reptisafe isnt even marketed as an aquarium conditioner. i have no idea what youre talking about here /gen
you brought up the point that detoxifying does nothing to help cycle, i was elaborating on how that isnt the point of detoxification.
i dont get it because the same bacteria starter meant to aid cycles also "makes fish in cycles easy". its the same thing but reptisafe doesnt do either of them.
i just dont understand why you brought in fish in cycles. all reptisafe does is dechlorinate and nothing else
reptisafe detoxifies nitrite and ammonia
where does it say that
you said you dont belive that and went on to talk about aquarium products and how they dont help cycles
everywhere reptisafe is listed?
i was making a comparison between reptisafe is a water conditioner and other water conditioners.
could you link me to where that claim is made then
because ive never seen it in my life
okay thanks
but i still dont believe it does that. im sure if i, or anyone else an an actual test it wouldnt do anything besides dechlorinate.
the comparison i made prior to aquarium products is because both seachem prime and nutrafin cycle say they neutralize ammonia and nitrites as well but time and time again theyve proven to not do those things. and i believe reptisafe is the same thing. its just a dechlorinator.
anything that claims to neutralize ammonia and nitrites is claiming to contain beneficial bacteria used in cycling
thats a big claim
please remember to disclaim or give sources, thank you!:)
If someone here is telling you reptisafe and such is unsafe and harmful please if you remember who let me know because that is sharing misinformation with what we currently know of the product.
With us being a scientific server. Someone would need either studies or actual evidence from the company themselves like recall orders. People can’t just claim something is unsafe because jim Bob over on YouTube said so or chatgpt said so. That would be like someone saying that pure calcium carbonate is harmful to reptiles but having no proof to back it up /gen
LOL
What part is funny. /gen
the jim bob part lpl
Sorry about that
