#how to get a leopard gecko to trust you

When a reptile trusts you it means that it doesnt sees you as a threat
they see you as a food source they are adapted to your smell, voice and can even form routines
for a leo to trust you it has to get adapted to you and begin seeing you as a food source
stay close to its terrarium, like half an hour each day
stick your hand inside from time to time for it to get adapted to your scent
if is possible try tong feeding the gecko
also avoid mistakes like forcing her to being handled (unless is neccesary, like health/medical reasons), being overly noisy and being rough during handling.
you have to give the gecko the choice of being handled
I guess you already know most of what I am saying right now I'm just reasurring you
it may be a rather fast proccess for some while for others may be slow
but steady!
It's not all on you whether your gecko will like being handled or not
each gecko has its own personality some are very inquisitive while others rather shy
it may take its sweet time
but oh at the end is so worth it
I assume your gecko is rather young currently so them not seeking to be handled as much as an adult and being a bit more timid is normal
its a patience game
just keep doing what you are currently doing
you are doing a good job
stay beside him/her stick your hand inside speak to it with a gentle voice
and be consistent
6 years ago is what I did with my first ever leopard gecko
and nowadays she is a cute social lady
reminder movista to disclaim all your advice! ❤️
thank you🙏
