What is Wrong with My Gecko???

Hey does anyone know what's going on with my and my husband's gecko? 3 main things we've noticed:
1- hasn't eaten in two weeks
2- hasn't been picking off his skin during shedding
3- the sore on his back

For most of his life he lived in a smaller enclosure than the one he is in now and there was no soil or plants. After moving a few months ago, my husband and I got a bigger tank for him about a 40 gallon, that we put him in. This is the first bio terrarium that we have put him in. I do have UVA and UVB lighting. I think the UVA and UVB light is 12 watts. He also has a heat lamp. His diet almost consists entirely of superworms because he refuses to eat anything else. He is hand fed the superworms. Please let me know if any more information is needed to determine why he has the store on his back and the other things.

could you take a picture of the uvb you use and the heat lamp bulb?

also do you guys supplement / dust his feeders at all?

We do occasionally give him superworms dusted in calcium.

turn off the uvb for now and if you're able to - there should be writing on the uvb!

it should say the % of it

given the size of the fixture it definitely isn't the 7% uvb

When I placed the order for it, I specifically selected the one that said it was for leopard geckos. However when it arrived, it had different packaging with a picture of a bearded dragon on it.

okay yeh no keep that off

Like clown mentioned it looks like it could be a burn and the animal needs to see a vet but if it was the desert/dragon bulb that has a beardie on it that bulb is extremely too high

which could cause burns.

okay yeh so the desert bulb.

uvb is dependant on the type of mesh you have and the distance away from the bulb. it's not about what the package has on it. For your tank specifically you'll want the arcadia 7% shadedweller for future. Don't use that current uvb ever again.

i'll send you the !guide so you guys can go over it together as it has up to date care information backed by scientific data. I'd read it and compare what you guys currently have. you'll also want to get more than just calcium for the little guy for possible skin issues. They need a pure calcium, a calcium with d3, and a multivitamin all dusted in a proper dusting schedule with pure calcium left in a small bowl in the tank at all times. definitely take a look at the links clown sent above with the vet command and get the little one into the vet so the possible burn can be treated!

Is there anything we can do at home? Can we put Neosporin on his back or aloe vera gel? Not sure how soon we can get him into a vet, money is tight right now.
