#crested gecko fattening

how are you using your scale? is it on a solid flat surface? (no mats, no carpet)
and whats your feeding schedule
solid flat surface, i feed him daily by hand (idk how to teach him to eat by himself)
how big is your enclosure?
60 width 60 like length and 80 height
should i use the growth and breeding formula
like the
pangea one i thiunk
nqa i think you should move him into a smaller enclosure first.
what flavour is he on?
watermelon n apricot
from gecko nutrition
nqa most cresties will be able to find food on their own as long as you leave it on a ledge of some sort
when i teach cresties to eat from ledges all i do is move them close to the ledge. by then they can smell the food and go eat on their own
do you feed insects?
he just walks over the food
he wont eat them, tried with banana crickets and turkish cockroaches
all around 5mm
do you ever leave the food in the whole night?
thats weird
i mean its around 28C in the terrarium since its really hot out here
so what should i do?
the humidity is always around 80% at night
and 60-70 throughout the day
nqa move him to a smaller enclosure until hes eating on his own, and try to find some way to lower the ambient temp a little. the heat is probably contributing to him not wanting to eat
but also his weight is really not that bad. cresties tend to grow slowly and i dont see any defined bones in the picture
will ping for second opinion <@&1365865072555069440>
ive read about cresties weighing around 6g when theyre 8 months for some people
should i just get the growth formula?
i heard it contains more fat than the other formulas
im not comfortable advising on that so im gonna let someone else answer
oh sure
again, i dont think your crestie is underweight but ideally you shouldnt have to handfeed him
ill try putting the formula in the terrarium and see if some of it just dissapears
ping me when u respond (to anyone that reads tbh)
nvm hes 13g
13g is really good for 8 months
thats about where my girl was at
i would work on getting him to feed on his own, though, like xia said. leave him on the ledge where it is and give him some, or just place it in front of where he is currently at.
alright!!
