This is the finished thing. It's a second-hand tank and I just want to make sure everything is okay. I changed the 2 halogen lights to this heating lamp which is way better and can heat the terrarium alone. The humidity dropped with this new light to 39% and the temperature rose to average between 30°C to 32°C on the warm side is this good?
She didn't want to eat today though. I managed to make her eat one cricket but that's it 😔 maybe she's still getting used to the terrarium idk

For Americans: 86° to about 90° farenheit
I have two spots to install the bulb so if it needs to go more on the right side I can switch it right away
You can see on the first pic
so 30-33°C is an ideal air temperature on the hot side
you have to check your surface temperature on the basking spot ideally it should be 34-37°C
(checking surface temperatures work great with a temperature gun)
ideal humidity range is 30-55% so that‘s also alrght
if your cool side is cool enough you are all good if not you can move the bulb further away to the right side
she probably didn‘t want to eat bc of seasonal changes it‘s typical winter behavior since their metabolism slows down don’t worry much since your husbandary is up to date
!tempgradient
you can check whenever you need to do so
Ty, but is the lamp on the good spot? Or do I switch it to the other?
if you can move the lamp i would angle it to where it's straight up and down not angled like that and fully on the right side not towards the middle
nqa, please correct me if im wrong but that hydrometer/thermometer isn’t gonna be helpful on the outside of the enclosure right? unless it has a probe i can’t see?
you put it inside.
Like this. One on each end :3
yeah i thought so! thats how mine are, i just thought id point it out :)
not sure why you'd put it on the outside really other than not knowing it goes inside
OH. I JUST REALIZED THEIRS IS BUILT INTO THE TANK
it probably has a probe?
yeah lol i was wondering why it was there
that has me concerned now tho that the heat lamp isn't being regulated by a thermostat and that probe is for the thermometer
just wanted to make sure they were getting correct readings and im familiar with that exact thermometer so i thought i’d say something
2am lurking comes in handy 🫡
It has a probe inside
Why would my room be so hot?! 😨
Lmao
So on the second one?
I took out the hide don't mind that
I'm waiting for my parents to order the thermostat
I just need an answer to this where the heat lamp should go that's it
But based off that Im assuming I should move it right?
I moved it
Is that better?
