hi i know i've made a same post a few days ago but its been a week since Ive seen my leo poop. Hes around 4 months old so I feed him daily but he suddenly has stopped pooping. I started to feed him less everyday a few days ago when he wouldnt poop so he can maybe digest whats in his stomach already. I've tried all sorts of methods like warm water bath, belly rub, olive oil. The only real change last week was the sudden temperature drop but her hot side temperature is still around 85-86 which isnt too low. I even bought a CHE for the night so it doesnt drop below 70. Another thing is also the humidity, although the cold side is around 40% the hotside with the overhead light on drops to 10% but i spray water everyday and ifl thats just the room humidity since the substrate isnt bone dry. It's just that he still has the same appetite but nothing coming out of him. Should i take my leo to the vet? Im just so lost on what to do now. sorry for the long rant

Hey! Could you give me a photo of your enclosure, as well as the exact parameters?

It sounds like her hot spot temperature is too low - ideally it should be 90 - 96

It’s a 20 gallon tank since my gecko is still a baby

do you have a thermostat? i cant see a probe

#

heating and temps are essential to proper digestion. i would fix your temps like griff said, either by insulating or changing bulb wattage, and go from there.

I switched to a 75w bulb

#

It’s at 92

#

what does your basking surface measure

lyric venture
#

my only concern is if I use a 75w

#

The ambient temperature is correct

#

But the surface goes up to like

#

110

#

is there a thermostat?

lyric venture
#

Yeah but i can’t get the ambient and the surface to both match

even if you have one basking surface at 110, not every inch of that rock will measure that high. as long as your heat is regulated on a thermostat, the point closest to the lamp being 110 is fine. your leo will have the option of regulating themself in an area with mildly lower surface temp

#

if that makes sense

#

so i shojld just use 75 so the ambient temperature is up

#

is it also okay if my hot side humidity is low

#

my cold side is still 40

floral arch
#

yeah its fine

#

hot side will always be lower
