Has her husbandry changed in the last 3 - 6 months?
Other than me adding a uvb light and upgraded her tank not really
So in my experience, UVB does cause patterning and colours to darken.
Could you run me through your temps as well as your UVB just to make sure it's nothing untoward?
Specifically:
Is your UVB on mesh? Have you checked it against our Uvi chart to ensure you're using the correct strength?
What basking bulb are you using? What temps are you hitting?
A pic of the enclosure would also be great!!
What is the exact strength of the UVB? A T5 bulb could be 10.0, 5.0, etc
It will be on the bulb
I’m using this heat lamp it gets from 28-30 on warm side and 22-24 on cool side no mesh on the uvb
It says 7%
Do you have a pic of the UVB?
how far away is your uvb from your basking spot / floor if it has no mesh under it
sorry LOL that's just some important info to have in this instance
The lamp doesn’t matter. We need the information of the bulb you use
About 46 cm from the ground
thats about a uvi of 0.7 which isnt a problem
what heat bulb are you using?
actually, to follow up the uvb question, is it 46cm away from the basking spot, or just from the ground?
usually when we measure uvi we're looking at the basking spot
It’s about 40 cm from the basking spot
yeah uvb is still not the issue
is your heatbulb incandescent/halogen and regulated on a thermostat?
I use this on and it’s on a thermostat
that is the dome, whats the bulb inside it?
I use those!
Is the bulb controlled by a thermostat?
Hmm, it doesn’t seem to be caused by your heating or lighting. Are you using a multivitamin?
No
That’s probably the cause then! You will need to use a multivitamin and that should help clear up the dryness. I personally like Zoo Med’s Repetitive.
You will need to get two kinds, Reptivite with D3 and Reptiviate without D3. Since you have UVB, you will only need to use the multivitamin with D3 about once a month
You can take a look at !suppschedule for a general overview
Is Arcadia ok? I trust that company
EarthPro-A does not offer a full spectrum of essential vitamins and minerals. Since you are dealing with skin dryness, your gecko needs Vitamin E. Vitamin E is essential for skin health and quality. EarthPro-A does not contain Vitamin E. For Vitamin E, you will need to use EarthPro-RevitalizedD3. This contains more vitamins such as that necessary Vitamin E and contains all the other vitamins and minerals EarthPro-A offers, too!
Unfortunately I don't think Arcadia offers any multivitamin that contains all essential vitamins and minerals with NO D3. This is why I recommend ZooMed's Reptivite instead, as they offer one with D3 and one without D3. I highly suggest getting these instead, especially since you have UVB!
We have !shoppinglist to help you find the things you need. Since you're in the UK, scroll down to the UK section and you'll see a chart with links to online listings.
thanks a lot for the help!
