so we have earthmix arid in canada but it's expensive.

for your substrate mixture I would check this topsoil out! It's what i use in my mixes and what xia uses as well 😄 it's regionally based so you'll need to double check your bags in person but it's a good soil

I used that topsoil i linked and exoterra stone desert (it's essentially just exoterra desert sand with added clay. you can use playsand / reptisand / exoterra desert sand just fine) in a 70:30 ratio!

I then sprinkled leaf litter on top :3
