send me a picture of your tank setup
ok
it still isnt finished more stuff is coming in the mail
and im getting new slate
the basking spot is very low but your thermostat probe is in the tank correct?
yea i moved it from my old enclosure into the new and left it there for 25min with the bulb on
and i also raised it but it still didnt work
it got max 85
25 minutes might not be long enough for it to heat up. but how did you have the thermostat setup?
i just put the thermostat on the slate
this one
gets rlly hot
if its turned all the way up
wym on the basking spot. like the probe?
im confused lol
that's a temp gun. that is not a thermostat
i'm asking how you have your thermostat setup for this enclosure
because in the video unless it's old i do not see a thermostat probe on your basking spot
which is where it should be
it was old
cus my leo still lives in his old enclosure for now
so i just put the dome back on the old one after
what thermostat do you have?
I would suspect that the basking spot didn't have a proper amount of time to heat up fully. since 25 mins is a short period of time
i generally give my basking spots an hour or two to properly heat up
i'd say more rock and more clutter in general is needed yeh.
are these ok?
depending on size it might be more helpful to get smaller pieces
you want to be able to stack them so that your leo has places to hide underneath or lay on top to absorb the heat
those bricks look pretty big
yea i can break them
if needed
cus im still trying to get my baking light to reach my basking spot
gotcha
i think as a temporary measure you can break down the bricks, and then stack them, and put your current hot hide over top to see if the shortened distance helps
i also have higher substrate on my hot side than my cool side to help with distance
36x18x18 dubia enclosure
yeah internally mounting would be pretty dangerous and itd limit how youd be able to use the height of the tank
youd have to rest the dome on the top and just boost your basking spot higher or change bulb wattage
new bulbs will smell like that sometimes. id turn on a fan to disperse the smell. if it continues to smell bad, that might be a bulb issue. but if youre regulating on a thermostat it prevents the bulb from getting too hot anyway
so should i clean those bricks and stack them
if youre gonna break em, do that first and then clean them
