Hello i am getting a leopard gecko but i have a few questions halogens. I was looking at thermostats and i was wondering if that would just be fine with a halogen or would i need a dimmer to. If so could u give me some good dimmer recs that u can find at pet stores?

We have a few thermostats on there! If you do go with an on/off thermostat for example yes you will need a dimmer added to the setup.

You would need a dimming stat for a halogen which would just regulate the tempature and make sure your gecko isnt to warm or too cold. There are multiple you can use and find on amazon, pet stores ect. i personally use one from exo terra

Honestly if you dont have enough money i wouldnt recommend getting a gecko just yet, save up some money so that you can make sure you get everything your gecko needs to be healthy and thrive in its enclosure

If you can findddd the exoterra dimming thermostats (they come in 300w and 600w) at a local reptile store if you have one of those that might be a way to be able to use cash for one :0!

I believe petsmart may carry an on/off thermostat you can use with a dimmer dome / dimmer switch if that’s a possibility for you

Mainly because their plugs are setup shitty. So if you wanted to use the timer for your heat to have a night cycle- you couldn’t dim it at the same time. Because the built in timer is a separate plug

If you can do that and then go tooo a hardware store you may be able to find a dimmer switch you can plug into your dome and then into the thermostat :0!

If all else fails you can get the other thermostat and just put it on a timer power strip/outlet
