#Thinking about welcoming home a second leopard gecko

I second you focusing on your first leopard gecko. It has not been long enough for you to really have perfected anything and if I’m gonna be blunt based on your responses in other forums you need more time learning proper husbandry information.
her husbandr is fine
i have had her all most 6weeks
fine, not at or exceeding thriving standards. basing everything off of previous information shared here- it looks under thriving minimum (and while yes id seen it said she has supposed neuro issues the videos youve shared she seems rather active and capable of larger habitat), thermometers are incorrect as i previously have said, humid hide isnt a hide as it is clear, i dont see a thermostat, i dont see an appropriate basking spot, i do not see uvb. i think you should re examine the !guide and focus on giving your current animal the best life you possibly can.
you have given a lot of incorrect advice in this server and i think some time studying the animal you have as well as how to properly vet a source of information would be more beneficial to you than jumping into having multiple pets.
Is this McFlurry
no
Orange ?
Oh yeah
one of the newer ones they got
The peeps at the store are going to want to see how Pepper’s care is and how she’s been doing before they adopt another to you (especially since it’s been a short time). I highly recommend reading the stuff said above because, no, your care isn’t not really fine. It’s our responsibility to do our best for our pets and make sure they are thriving
i also dont know how old you are, but you do need to be wary about the amount of money youre putting into your care, especially if thats coming from a parent or guardian
a lot of us with multiple reptiles are 100% financially responsible for our own animals, and only add when we know it can be afforded
they would adopt another one out to me
im going to be 16
so im assuming youre still not financially independent
i am
2 part time jobs
Then it would be great if you could focus more of those resources on upgrading your current leo and getting better stuff for her
Because you’d be looking at having two adult leopard geckos that need upgrades. It also wasn’t long ago that you had a health scare with your current one
her tank is as full as it can be
how big is it though
20g cuz they told me no biger for her
20 gallons is a great size for babies, temporary usage, and quarantine, but it’s not really a permanent solution for leopard geckos. They always recommend going as large as possible at that store unless there are special circumstances. Since Pepper’s neuro issues are very slight, there’s no reason to keep her in a small enclosure.
they told me 20g bc of her nreo things
and she is starting more and more things
20 gallon is the bare minimum. The adoption post they made about her quite literally says she needs greater than or equal to a 20 gallon to be brought home.
It was also not long ago that you were recommending stuff like red lights, so it just doesn’t seem appropriate for you to be getting another animal so soon
If her neuro symptoms are worsening, that could be a sign or prolonged stress or other illness.
greater than or equal to sign on that card there
she started the Star gazing
Head tilting
Inability to catch prey
Circling
she dose not do good in a biger tank
If she’s getting that much worse, like I said, she’s probably stressed or has some sort of illness. That means you need to revise your husbandry, triple check it, and possibly see a vet
Neuro symptoms don’t just get severe out of nowhere without reason
Tbh I don’t really care to argue with you anymore since it seems like your mind is made up that your care is perfect and you’re ready for another leo. Just know that we do not recommend it, and we instead recommend that you do more learning and reassess your leo care, especially if Pepper’s condition is worsening.
!guide I’ll send this another time
she was at my sisters last week as i was gone out of state and she was in a 50g (could not get a pic phone was updateing) that's when my sis told me she started Circling and she nevr did that to me so like idk why she is doing that
You realize that increased stress due to being forced into a new environment is almost certainly what would trigger neurological symptoms and not Existing In A Place With More Room To Walk, right?
Putting a neuro gecko into a different setup, even if it's a tiny critter keeper, will cause stress and lend to more exaggerated neurological symptoms.
