uuuhhh meow

is his wrist at an odd angle or is it just me?

wintry geyser
#

totally nqa ofc but to me that looks really weird... it doesn’t look normal at all

tired needle
#

It indeed is weird

wintry geyser
#

could it have broken it and it healed back weird? or a defect of some sort?

#

kinda curious how it would look on an xray

too

wintry geyser
#

it doesnt look like mbd?

#

not to me at least

tired needle
#

Given it’s only one wrist and noo where else on the animal I don’t think it’s mbd personally but an X-ray would be the only way to tell

#

Visual MBD normally means the mbd is already severe which you would probably see it it more than just that foot

wintry geyser
#

i personally feel like a baby like that wouldnt get mbd that fast as well

#

not visual at least

tired needle
#

What are you pointing at

wintry geyser
#

the top jaw being over the bottom

#

which looks normal to me

tired needle
#

That just looks like face scales

It’s not a e.mac so markings may make the animal look off if you're not used to looking at the species but with the video xia sent last night of it eating I do not think his jaw is fucked up.

#

John wick looks fine besides his foot

ill let the store manager know and see when we can sort out a vet appointment.

this guy apparently came in with a lot of stuck shed so i wouldnt be surprised if there was something else

tired needle
#

it wouldn't shock me if it's a birth defect in that case

tired needle
#

i just noticed

keen pelican
#

yeah even i just noticed the foot now after taking him out

#

if i didnt take him out i wouldnt have seen it

keen pelican
#

old manager never bothered to tell me how some of the animals came around

orchid arrow
#

Is he bearing weight?

#

Or she lol

keen pelican
#

i havent checked yet lol

but yeah, hes getting around without issue

#

i havent seen any limping or favoring the other side

orchid arrow
#

And you just noticed today?

#

(Not criticizing, just verifying timeline lol)

keen pelican
#

just noticed today yes

#

i hadnt taken him out to look at him previously

orchid arrow
#

If he’s that young and you’ve noticed it this recently, I would get him to a vet ASAP. It can probably still be splinted. There are a lot of important nerves and arteries that supply the foot in that area, so a fracture there makes me very anxious

#

Like it doesn’t need an emergency vet tonight, but needs a vet visit in the next two to three days

keen pelican
#

ill see what i can do. management has left for the day

#

ill let them know when i come in tomorrow

#

i cant guarantee an appointment in 2/3 days though since the one good reptile vet around is always booking at least 5 days in advance

#

my question is what if he came in like that? because it could have been there for a while and i just hadnt noticed til today?

orchid arrow
#

When did y’all get him in?

keen pelican
#

at least a month ago

ive only been working here for a week

orchid arrow
#

So I mean, if he arrived like that, a bony callus has probably already formed and it would be difficult to fix the fracture

#

It’s just very difficult to know without palpating the limb and taking images, which is why I think getting him to the vet ASAP is best

#

call and see if your clinic can squeeze him in for a drop off appointment.

In the mean time, keep an eye on the foot for changes in size, color, or use

keen pelican
#

you got it

keen pelican
#

so as it turns out, vet appointments for any animals need to be approved by the company owner

#

ive already asked the manager and he said hed shoot the owner an email

wintry geyser
#

damn im sorry xia that kinda sucks

#

i hope you get it approved
