Hey all! I wanted to get a 24” uvb fixture for my leopard gecko enclosures but I don’t know where to find or what bulb to use in those fixtures for my leopard gecko. I still have my 12” Arcadia fixtures with 7% uvb bulbs, but I want to upsize to 24” to span the length of the r enclosure. I was also considering upsizing the enclosure from 4x2x2 to 5x2x2 and was wondering I I should then use 10” domes instead of 8.5”, and if using 150watt halogen bulbs would then be safe to use on a thermostat? Or if I should just mount the heating inside of the enclosure with a lamp cage and a mount instead.
#what uvb to use for 24” fixture?

What tank do you currently have / are wanting to upgrade to.
Right now she’s in a 4x2x2 and I want to upgrade to a 5x2x2, I have the space and there’s no harm in giving her more room to live in
I meant like brand
Oop sorry
Uvb is dependent on mesh type / brand of the mesh and distance from the basking spot so I need to know that before I suggest one LOL
In terms of the heating that’s gonna be dependant on your external factors like tank material, room temp, distance from the basking spot, ventilation, etc
The current enclosure I bought from Dubia and her upgrade can be from anywhere, my budget is anywhere from $350 to $800, but if it could be less expensive that’d be preferred because I have plans of housing another reptile sometime in the future, though I have to setup first
I’m more so worried that there aren’t any bulbs I could use with the 24” fixture and that it’d be a wasted expense

soo for the dubia enclosure the 2.5% uvb is 22" but you'd have to built up quite a bit to get into proper range.
and for a custom built pvc 5x2x2 i imagine it would be internally mounted
so theoretically the 2.5% could work but a 7% is also fine. it doesn't need to be the whole span of the depth
But are there any 7% 22” bulbs? I haven’t seen any
you don't need 2
you only need 1. like i just stated it doesn't need to be the whole basking spot
the 7% is the most widely used bulb and plenty of us use it in our 4x2x2s or larger for leos!
if you're just looking for more visual light to light up the tank maybe look into a LED
I think I’m a little worried about the uvb not being in a good place or just having too much clutter that she won’t get any but I’m sure they’ll be under it when needed, but I was just thinking the size of the enclosure and the fixture don’t correlate
you got a pic of placement and clutter??
I have these two pics, it’s kind of hard to see how I’ve set up the enclosure with everything all over the place but I don’t want to change it since she seems to enjoy it, she’s very active and the camera is constantly picking her up doing goofy things and climbing around and basking and whatnot
The enclosure temps are good too
That was when I first put it together, like around then so the humidity is normal now and the temps are good
from the light pic above i think the uvb placement looks fine :o!
assuming the blue light is an led yeh?
I think the blue light is just the picture being funky lol, but I do have the thermostat there
