what do you mean if it lowers does it make it higher
So I set it to 89
When it reaches 89 will it keep it there
Say it lowers, does it just heat it back up again?
Do you have a dimmer switch or dimmer dome
It will just turn it completely off then if it gets above set temp
Tis why we mentioned getting a dimmer switch or dome to mitigate that
Oh
Dang it
Do they have them at petsmart
What do I do now
I mean, it’s possible the dome is a dimmer
But idk
Let’s hope
It doesn’t turn it off
Just tested
It doesn’t
I tested it
I changed it to the temp that it was in there and it just stopped heating it
Lights stayed on
what do you mean you changed it to the temp that it was in there
i know for a fact on/offs turn them off when it gets too hot becasue that's literally how they function

Oooooou
I don’t thing it ever gets above 89 in there
and turn back on. and possibly turn off again if it decides to strobe
the thermostat should be set to basking temps. so 94 is what we typically suggest people start with
I just changed it to 89 so it won’t turn off and I’m gonna get a dimmer off of Amazon
The Credenza LED+ lamp dimmer switch provides optimal dimming performance of LED bulbs. This dimmer switch works with up to 100-Watt of dimmable LED/CFL or 250-Watt of incandescent/halogen, allowing you to control multiple bulb types on the same circuit. It is designed to control a broad range of...
I didn’t think abt that
if you just want the switch and not a new dome
you plug your dome into it > dome into thermostat > thermostat into timer / powerstrip / outlet
you manually dim it
Ok
so you adjust it to where it will keep your temps / only give the bulb enough power to keep it at say 94 and not do the on/off stuff
How do I know when it’s at enough power
that'll be something you have test on your own as everyone's external factors that affect heating are different
