weighing should be done on a hard surface for accuracy
7 inches isnt bad for 8 months old but 11 grams is weird, are you sure your scale is balanced/tared? My scale personally was junk
so i know some are just not great
Definitely put the scale on a hard surface and zero it out before putting your gecko on. 11g is an inaccurate reading!
omg! i forgot to answer im sorry! but yes it was zero out but i will try again on a flat surface i fed him and weighed him the next morning it was 16
thats definitely more normal
i would have guessed this gecko is somewhere between 20-30 grams though
nqa healthy weight range is individual to each gecko so we judge by body condition
and honestly i think he looks fine
im not saying hes underweight, im saying the scale is not giving an accurate number
body condition looks fine to me
ohhhh i'm sorry, okay i'll retry tonight! thank you
but he's so tiny for 7 months no? i got him in july
i mean is it possible that you’re overestimating his age? otherwise to me i could see the possibility of the gecko being 7 months old but maybe a slower grower (and it might be worth double checking your enclosure temps)
whatever the deal is, if there’s even a problem at all, i don’t think it’s a calorie deficit
