Where did you get her from?
She looked bad in pet co and I wanted to save her
When did you get her from petco?
So I took her knowing I had no experience but I wanted to try to give at least a better life than that
December 31st 2022
I would take her to a certified exotic vet personally and get her assessed.
For her age she shouldn’t be that small but also she still has baby banding
She eats rlly well
She tells me when to stop feeding her
Like she would turn her head
When’s she’s done
Eating isn’t really the issue it’s that with her current markings and her size she looks like she possibly is stunted
Oh
The tail is also very thin, implying she's not getting the nutrients she needs from her food
Well I feed her crickets dubia and mealworms and make sure to give her that powder that prevents MBD
Being from petco , they get their animals from some really shitty people meaning they can come with some health issues
bad genetics, etc.
Yeah she was rough tail was small body was small she was in a container with 10 other ones in one box
For reference I have a pretty petite female but she’s 2 years going on 3 next and this is her size
from experience, you could be doing everything right and theyd still develop issues down the road.
mines a rescue from petsmart. she was great for the first year but now shes developing digestion issues
Oh wow
She’s big and pretty
Oh I’m sorry
I just I want to be a herpetologist in the future I loved reptiles every since I was kid so it hurts seeing her like this
thats just how it is with mill bred animals. they dont account for health
She sheds but no growth
My other female to show how your baby’s patterning should be broken up by now
I can show yall the pic when I first got her
Pet store geckos that are cohabbed like that can spread diseases to each other easily (which can lead to their growth being stunted), which is why a vet visit is suggested. Here is a locator for reptile vets in your area !vet

Yeah I see
Dang
The day I first got her
The exact same size
how long ago did she drop her tail?
She dropped it back in may-June it’s only now that it started to grow back recently
good lord thats slow
nqa they usually only take a few months to grow back fully
how long are they? without the tail?
on top of that, leos that have dropped tails take a ton of energy and nutrition to regrow them. so its generally advised to feed a tad more and stay on top of supplementing
Her little legs also don’t have much muscle definition so she’s definitely not holding that nutrition
Definitely schedule a vet visit with an exotic vet. It's great she's eating, but if it's taking her that long to grow back a tail and isn't putting on weight, that's implying something is stopping her from getting the nutrition she needs from her food.
She tells me when to stop feeding her like she would full on not eat anymore when I try to give her it she eats about 4-5 mealworms same with crickets and dubia roaches
I give her the supplements with the food ofc
I feed her about 4 times a week so every other day not every day
Bc I don’t wanna make her overweight
i dont think she could be overweight even if she tried
should I feed her everyday then?
The issue isn't how much you're feeding her, it's that she cannot absorb the nutrition from her food because there is likely an underlying health issue.
Dusting with multivitamin and feeding on a regular schedule is great, but it doesn't matter if the gecko is not able to absorb all the nutrients she needs from her food. I'll send these links again so you can schedule a vet visit for her. We are not vets, but a professional can help you figure out the issue and take care of it !vet
