okay thank you! i cant seem to get my leos weight down, hes not necessarily overweight hes 56g and hes only 4-5 months old, he just has constant air pouches and ive tried lowering his calcium intake n changing his diet, but i saw someone mentioned changing their feeding schedule but im not so sure

Do you have a top down pic of him standing up on a hard surface?

quiet bridge
#

i have this photo of him in the bowl i used to weigh him, not sure if its the best

halcyon bane
#

Ahhh I see what you mean by the small boobies

quiet bridge
#

sometimes i think theyre getting bigger and im so AUGHHH he had them before then they went away and now theyre back. i was thinking that, they rlly look like he has boobs now

#

And you’re sure he’s a male? lmfao

#

Reason I ask is some geckos here that are female get them for what seems to be seasonal reasons. They come and go. Like my girl apricot- she’s started getting them again lmfao so my vet when I took apricot in suggested it’s possibly a hormonal thing.

They generally aren’t harmful and stuff but they can be super frustrating to not know what’s causing them

#

I ended up going to the vet for them and getting apricot’s aspirated to make sure they weren’t anything bad

#

Poor girl had her tiddies poked

quiet bridge
#

WELL I SHOULD HOPE SO UWAAAH UWAAAH he looks male but im no professional, im seconds away from going the vet but i dont wanna seem like im overreacting

In terms of weight and stuff his body condition doesn’t look bad. His belly may be a bit round but he’s also curved a bit there so :0

#

Okay yeh das a man

#

How often are you feeding him?

quiet bridge
#

You can see them a bit better here, i took that photo today. Every other day, he has locusts and mealworms as well as silkworms usually, not sure if i should change one of his staples, but they dont look too high in fat rlly

#

#

I think griff has mentioned another before

quiet bridge
#

if theyre high in calcium is it still good to feed him, just thinking incase calcium is causing those pouches, IVE JUST TRIED SM and got 0 results, i dont even know how long i need to continue before i actually see any difference

halcyon bane
#

They’re good feeders but you can also try dubias and such :0 they also sell them

#

I know the feeling though

#

That’s where I was with apricot

quiet bridge
#

how long did yours have hers for? its been around 2 weeks for mine now, not sure when or if theres a point i need to schedule a vet appointment for them because what if they just come back? and uk vets r sketchy sometimes and lit tell you what u alr know

halcyon bane
#

Until April this year

#

She had them from around this time to then

#

So around until breeding season roughly

#

And then they disappeared

#

And now they’re back

#

Hence why I kinda just have chalked it up to seasonal/hormonal shit cus I did the diet changes and supplementing changes. Nothing worked, the vet poked at her boobies and they weren’t anything harmful (they’re not air bubbles btw) and so. Yeh.

#

Likeeee here

#

If you wanna talk big gecko tiddies lmfao
