Hello!

So, on the 29th I switched my gecko into a new enclosure. Since then, she has barely been eating. And yes, I know it's probably because of the new place and what not. She hasn't been lethargic, having weird poops, no marks, no burns,no change in weight, just no other strange behavior. I tried a new feeder and she ate 3 dubia roaches (yippie!!) but refused to touch anymore. I put a few in a plastic bowl thing to see if she will eat on her own.

Like I said, it's probably just her getting used to her surroundings, but can someone just tell me that that reason makes sense? I really think I'm overthinking all of this but I want to make sure with other people

When they change enclosures, their entire world changes, and that can be stressful. Like when you take a new gecko home, sometimes they won't eat or have an appetite immediately. I'd keep monitoring her behavior (sounds like you're watching for the right things-- lethargy, poop, weight change etc.) and keep offering food, it's a good sign she took some roaches

If you'd like, you can share more details or images of your enclosure andwe can see if there's anything in your setup that could possibly be changed to help

This is her set up right now. I just got paid and I'm getting topsoil/play sand to change the substrate to. Should I wait until she's comfortable in the tank to do this or should I do it asap?

I'd do it ASAP! That way she's only stressed out once, as opposed to getting used to the tank and then having it all change again

I like the fake plants and things to climb, looks like you've got the basics down! My only comments are:

  1. What is the size of the tank?
  2. I've heard those types of hammocks can snag nails and teeth, I'd take that out and replace it with wood or another climbing surface
  3. Is there a basking surface like a rock or flat surface to trap the heat from that lamp!

I'm not sure if you have been linked this already (since you are new), but we have a !guide that goes over tank basics that you can compare to too and ask if you have any questions love_frog
