#downsizing enclosure?

He probably uses it while you're sleeping or not around. Personally I wouldn't downsize just bc they don't use it? It kinda just.. doesn't make sense. Nqa
i mean, if he doesn’t use half of it i’d rather repurpose the tank. i want to get a blue tongue skink and it makes more sense to me to downsize him rather than buy another 120 gal
i might set up a little camera so i can see if he uses the other side when i’m not up :o
They choose their favourite places from time to time. It would just kinda but mean to take away stuff imo. It's like if you don't use a certain room in ur house and someone demolishes it, you wouldn't be very happy. Idk to me it doesn't make sense nqa
that’s valid. i’m gonna think on it for a while before making a final decision ^^
Oh yea meant to ask that
yuh ! there used to be wheat grass in the tank but it died, i need to get more plants
Its probably too open so he doesn't want to leave. Try building up and giving more places to hide and climb nqa
oki :0 that makes sense. thank you !
it looks good but like anxiety said i’d add in some more cover. you’ve got a good amount to climb on but something like fake leaves or vines would be good
just more height to the cover
do you have any plant recommendations ? it’s a bioactive tank so i’d like to add live plants
Cork bark
Ik you said plant
But cork bark gives you more climbing plus coverage !
i am asking for plants in specific /gen/nm ^
he may have a fav side, NQA
i like snake plants and aloe plants! it’s hard to find live plants that provide vine like cover. perhaps trailing jade. but double check that one w a plant QA. in the plant chat there should be a pinned list of recs as well
any safe plant that has big leaves and/or is tall should work
heyo i havent read up to much but wanted to put in my two sense
dont downgrade !! he is most definitely exploring in the night. he may not feel safe to during the day because there isnt enough coverage as cln explained ^_^
Nqa but I’ve had way too many plants to care for for the past 2-3 years but I think the light may be too dim for a lot of plants in your tank (just going off the one in there rn) so I’d either recommend supplemental light or try low light plants like snake plants and aloes and parlour palms or asparagus ferns
If any of these are actually toxic someone lmk but as far as I’m aware they are pet safe
Basically most succulents in general are incredibly tricky to keep happy unless you blast them with sunlight lol
i have a giant white led light for the plants that stretches across the entire tank, it’s just a flat light so it’s kinda hard to see in the pic !
