Howdy.

So my leo is getting quite used to climbing on my hand (while still in her tank). I am very reluctant to start lifting her out of her tank and handle her, because I am scared that she might A) jump off my hand and onto the floor, or B) scurry away once I have sat down with her, meaning that I can’t get to her. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do? She is still a bit skittish when I get to close to her tank when she’s out of her cave, but will happily climb onto my hand while it is on the floor of her tank.

nqa i would try holding your hand a little bit above the floor of the tank to see if she climbs up? or maybe if she climbs onto your hand slowly lift her and then if she doesn’t jump take her to a safe place where she can crawl around on your hands

i have a twin sized bed (so relatively small) and mine has tried to run away before but i’ve always scooped him up before he runs off or behind the bed, i don’t have anything to gauge if he’s fast or slow but because i’m much bigger than him it’s easy to pick him up
