That's how I have a few of mine setup but I do believe you may want 1 or 2 more hides as well nqa
This is kinda the quarantine tank
I was told 3 is fine
When I upgrade to bioactive I will get more
And better looking ones
How can o make them@dark tho
I don't think the dual fixture is good. You can check out !shoppinglist nqa
Quarantine doesn't mean less things. You can still have the same amount as you would a normal one. Nqa
I know imma buy branches at a store
Iirc you want a 8.5 inch dome, flukers has it. And that bulb doesn't look safe. You only need night time heating if the enclosure temperature drops under 65F (18C) nqa
My room is kinda cold so I just put the Che on a thermostat to regulate it to 85
75*^
Idk cuz the dual was reccomended in another reptile server
Yes but you said "I was told three hides was fine"
Which is correct but you should still have more
Idk if dual is safe nqa
Ig I see dual as bad bc the dual fixtures I have promote coloured lights which are a no no, but don't take my word for that they are bad nqa
Now you can set the mood for your pet with Fluker's clamp lamp with dimmer. Dimmer switch controls the light and heat output of incandesent bulbs and ceramic heat emitters. This allows you to adjust the temperature of your pet's enclosure without buying a new bulb. This dome lamp is made of heavy...
You want this dome to go with your thermostat
Why does the dome size matter? I’m sure the dual will work just fine
It's not the dual size, it's that this dome has a manual dimming switch you can use to dim the bulb to the correct temperature. Otherwise your thermostat is going to be turning on and off your light all day
Is the dual doesn’t end up working I’ll return it and get that
If you find that your light is turning on and off in the dual once you hook it up to the thermostat, try the dimming dome I linked
Wouldn’t it be easier to just buy a dimmer
The dimming dome is a dimmer that comes attached to the dome. You can buy an external dimmer but just make sure it's compatible with wattages and whatnot with the dual dome, as I don't really know how the duals work electricity-wise
It’s 2 seperate plugs
So only one of those plugs is going to be able to fit into your thermostat then?
I have a lot of dual plug extensions
I don't have a dual dome so I'm having trouble picturing what this looks like in my head, but just make sure all heat sources are on a thermostat for safety reasons (and that the wattages are all compatible and you're not overloading any circuits for any extensions or adaptors you're using)
Would a 7am turn on and 7pm turn off work
They just a 12 hour of and on, doesn't matter the times really nqa
I do 8am-8pm
Ill just do what I do for my beardie
And what's that? 7?
Yup
Yea that works
If you're running both light bulb and CHE together, by splitting the single thermostat output to feed both plugs, the thermal probe will be reading the combined heat output. Which would definitely turn your light bulb on and off constantly along with the CHE.
There never on at the same time
Che is for night only
Basking bulb is for the day
So you'll be unplugging them in and out every night cycle.
I guess
I got a timing strip for like 20 bucks at petsmart
You'd need to change your thermostat settings too every time you switch. 😩
Unless you get another one that's constantly on, just waiting till temps drop below 85 to supplement heat.
I set the basking light to about 100? On the thermostat
At night the gradient will be like 75 cuz my room is 75
You don't need che if it's that warm then 😌
Ik, it’s backup
I feel like buying a single Che and halogen + domes would be cheaper and more affective
^^ if it really is just back up for emergencies.
Buying that $64 dome when you ain't sure you'll use both, when the flukers singles you can aim separately and are cheaper when buying 2 units will save some more bucks and give more choices to your settings.
They're dimmable.
There dimmable and the light spread is better with a wider dome aswell
The dual came with bulbs, which o need
What's their wattage then?
100w
