washing sand

I just got mochis sand, I was wondering if I just wash it all now? Idk how much I'll use in his enclosure.

And does anyone know an easy ish way to wash it? I'm planning on using a bucket but idk how to get the water out without loosing sand. I know some people said pillow case, but is that like, stick the sand in the pillow case and rinse with water?

Some people use the pillow case method and others use a bucket. Its going to take a few days for the sand to dry in a bucket (really it takes a few days in general), but just put it in the bucket, let the water run, and once the water is semi clear then you're good.

Yea ik that but how do I drain with the bucket

I do the bucket method
Once pouring the water out of the bucket tip it so water drains out, but the sand does not.

The wet sand should be heavy enough that it does not slide through, however do be careful with draining it (it’s like pouring a pot of water)
