Don’t type L e o
I'm not sure whether it's like cyst or something thats stuck in his mouth
I noticed this after I was done feeding him and he started moving his jaw and licking his lip
If he can’t get it off and it seems like a part of him, that’s a vet visit right there. Can’t say what it is, but they’ll get you the right diagnosis and treatment plan if you find a reptile specialized vet. I looked for exotic pet clinics and told them my pet was a gecko, and they let me know they had a reptile vet available and when she would be open. Call asap to secure the earliest opening the reptile specialist has, they can get pretty filled up x.x”
it somehow disappeared today after I gave it a check again.
I'm still unsure whether it was just stuck food in his mouth or some kind of crust , I just get really easily worried as I'm pretty new owning a reptile myself. I'm glad it was nothing ^^"
Okay that sounds promising, check his lips and try to peek into his open mouth later, it could’ve been smthn stuck! If you see obvious patches of discoloration in the mouth (like a patch of dark red on tongue, white spots on tongue, etc.) or more weird looking lip parts, consider it again, but I’m glad to hear that thingy has disappeared. Stuff like mouth rot certainly do not get “licked away”
It is stressful as a new owner to suspect smthn is wrong because we rlly don’t know all the things that can be normal yet. The best you can do is try not to freak out, get professional opinion, and try not to dwell on possibility too long if the gecko appears fine. Vet appointments are great to make sure, though.
've read it can be hard to notice at times if something is wrong, unless they start acting diffrent or not eating/pooping at all. that kind of stuff
I've given his mouth a check and it seems fine from the looks of it.
also true :o ~
oh and thanks for the help!
