I apologize for the background noise but I had a question about my geckos breathing.. is it normal for it to be like this?.. his temperatures are good through the day I even leave a little during the night so it doesn't get too cold since here in Cali it has been dropping below 40°..also he did lose a little of weight usually he is between 17-19g as well as him not eating since his shed which was around 4 days ago and didn't eat much prior shedding just a little, I did try to feed him today he didn't seem at all interested he did went for 2 strikes but as soon as he got a hold he didn't eat the roach.. I did also try to look I to its mouth by gently rubbing the side of his mouth till he opened for me I didn't see anything that might be hurting his mouth either his Activy is normal outside of the enclosure which I try to limit since it's been getting really cold like I mentioned prior but when he does come out he is chill alert high and all I'll add a picture of him last night too..

they may just breathe faster when anxious/excited, bringing them out of the tank can be a bit stressful so that may cause more rapid breathing. as for the not eating, that can be due to husbandry sometimes (amongst other reasons). i’m not familiar with your husbandry, have you checked out the server guides?

and like you are saying, the cooler weather could definitely play a role but its always good to check and make sure everything else is up to par!

Should I wait until he comes out to eat? He usually does that when he's really hungry stand up on all 4s and wait for me to feed him usually.. but now he doesn't come out of his hidey hole

This is him right now.. I passed some lice insects around and he didn't bother at all..

@proud apex what are the temperatures dropping to at night? I would keep an eye on his weight every week or so using a kitchen scale but its sounding like hes slowing down because of seasonal change, which is pretty common, and OK as long as hes not rapidly losing weight

This was his weight on the 9th I'll weight him this Friday again.. and the temperature outside usually drops around 35~40°f at night but I tend to keep a dhd (I think it's called) on at night a little low since it has the little wheel on it to control how hot I want it to be, so at night it stays around 73°f ish on slightly the middle side so rightnow that's where he's Baskin on the picture I sent not too long ago
