#How often should I expect a shed? And what can I do to boost humidity

Don't recall my gecko shedding for a quite a while and I am slightly concerned.

They shed very quickly and often times when you're not looking. Many owners can only count on one hand the amount of times they've caught one in the act of shedding, so they're likely just doing it and you haven't caught it! Best way to tell if they're going into shed is watching to see if they suddenly become paler in color (but for some geckos that are lighter this may be hard to see anyways).

For shedding, really all you need to do is make sure the humid hide is moist (spray with a spray bottle when it's feeling dry). Overall tank humidity is usually fine at ambient room humidity, but having your water dish on the warm side can evaporate off some water and bring that up. Planting live plants can also help to retain humidity

And to address the very first question in the title, shed frequency depends on age. Younger geckos shed more than older geckos

I believe adult geckos shed around once a month

Can vary based on the individual though, but they won't be shedding as much as younger geckos that are still growing

Alright, thanks a lot

And if I don't spot him shedding?

Even with looking in his moist hide

Keep an eye out for stuck shed on hard to reach places, like the toes, tailtip, and nose. Otherwise just keep providing a moist hide, he's likely just shedding when you aren't seeing him because it happens so quickly
