@dusk sleet might have some good insight on any difficulties with toeless geckos and loose sub

#

and i cannot speak on the GI issues fully, nor do i know the extremities of the GI issues they have but i will say that when leos are introduced to a new environment they use their tongue and lick around to get a better sense of their surroundings so some substrate particles will be ingested but the environment licking should subside for the most part fairly quickly. if you think they are able to pass the initial “new setup licking” then it should be alright but if anyone else has any opinions pls chime in

hi hello

#

just my experience but its def safe to keep toeless gecks on loose sub assuming all the wounds have closed.

he may not dig as much because loose sub may feel weird on his toe nubs, i know bex doesnt dig more than one or two claws at the dirt. it may take some time for him to get used to because its an entirely different texture but its definitely worth it because a nice and soft loose sub should feel much better on their feet
