Multivitamin with D3

Hi everyone, back when I first started buying stuff for my gecko I was recommended this supplement (only): https://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Med-Reptivite-Vitamin-2-Ounce/dp/B0002AQB6A

Now I know it's not good especially for everyday dusting but is there any schedule I could incorporate this into? Like once every two weeks? Or is it completely harmful/not good for my gecko? Since I spent money on it I don't really wanna throw it out but I can't sell it for leopard geckos either, is there any other reptile species that can use this kind of multivitamin?

Supplements are a necessary part of a leopard gecko's (or most any captive herp's) diet. In the wild, they would be eating a wide variety of prey, and that prey would be eating a wide variety of foods itself. In captivity, there's no way to replicate this perfectly, which is why offering supplements and as varied of a diet as possible is crucial in preventing deficiencies and illness.

The exact schedule you use for supplements will depend on your individual animal, its age, and your feeding schedule. However, a good place to start is by picking up some calcium, calcium + D3, and multivitamins. If you use UVB, you will likely not need a D3 supplement since UVB allows reptiles to produce their own D3. This takes the guessing game out of how much D3 to provide (they can overdose on it) since they will regulate their exposure and D3 levels themselves. D3 is needed to use calcium in the body, so animals will become calcium deficient without D3. Additionally, make sure any calcium supplements you use are phosphorus free since they generally get enough phosphorus in their diet, and too much will cause a calcium deficiency.

there are example schedules to follow at the bottom! the reptivite we have on the command and shopping list is the one we suggest as it doesn't have d3 in it lemme double check about using the d3 one though since i get not wanting to waste

yeah i bought all the good supplements since then and made a schedule based on the guides i just really wouldnt just wanna throw it out if it can be used at all

since you've already bought the other supplements (assuming a mv , pure calcium and a cal with d3 in it) 😮 i would just continue using those in terms of for your leo.
