"Retrieving Remote Settings” screen stuck

I was playing the day before yesterday with a friend and everything was working fine. Yesterday we wanted to continue the game, but the screen gets stuck and won’t go past this point. I’ve tried everything to fix it but nothing works.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

Cleared the game cache and Steam cache

Disabled Steam Cloud sync to see if it would work

Uninstalled and reinstalled the game

Updated my PC drivers

Verified the integrity of the game files

Changed the download region to the closest one to where I live

Restarted my PC

Connected via Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi

Nothing worked and I’m starting to get really frustrated 🙁

Hey there @stable inlet! Are you still dealing with this issue? It might sound a little strange, but I've seen cases where this issue is very erratic (sometimes it happens and sometimes it's magically fixed), so I'm asking to be sure.

If you are, you could try switching between DX11 and DX12 or any of the solutions on the support-page from TMG that you haven't listed yet (if there is any). In case none of those work either, I'd love to hear it.

Have you tried any of the support page solutions from the Total Mayhem Games website? I believe the link got unpinned, so I can send it to you if needed. In case you have, it's honestly been too long since I've played Together myself, so all I know off the top of my head is that verifying your game files sometimes fixes the issue.

Could you drop your player log files in here?

We might be able to find useful info in there

Is your system time set correctly to your timezone?

Are you using an integrated graphics card?

Did you check if your Firewall / Windows Defender is perhaps blocking certain game files?
