#Game crashes

Just saying it here : After checking the logs on all platforms, the crash seems to always happen in vivoxsdk.dll. The game might be playable if we aren't using the in-game VC, which kind of spoil the game.
btw, stupid bot deleted the original message
You could try to verify your Steam integrity files to repair any damaged files and restart the game as administrator. Also keep in mind that WWH Too does not have Steam deck (or similar) compatibility.
If it is really the voice servers being blocked, you could have a look at this:
But it is weird that it's causing crashes. So I would also try these solutions:
All can be found on our FAQ page https://totalmayhemgames.com/support/support-we-were-here-too/
I've sent an email to support this friday. I'll wait for a reply. Game files were checked. The voice server is not blocked. There are no loading issue. I doubt this is a GPU issue since we've tested on three different GPUs, from Nvidia, AMD and Intel.
I'm the same person doing the support mails so I'll keep the conversation here. Could you send your player log files? These can be found here:
In said email I've said that there is no logging file. And the game is WWE Too.

Please shut this bot down. I think I know why it's deleting my messages, but this is stupid. This is part of the bug report.
It removes it because it contains too much duplicated texts, can;t turn that off but I have the information so dont worry
Great :)
So if you copy paste the URL with the hidden folder in your folder destination there's no logs? 🤔
That's the message I sent via e-mail, I can attach the event log file here as well, but there are "private" informations (this is just the machine name and username though).
Ill check with a dev to see how you can find logs for WWH Too
And Ill forward him your crash file to see if that might be sufficient
That's what I have
Do you mean the .evtx I've sent by email ? Should I post it on Discord too or have you been able to fetch it from the email ?
I've got it from the mail
Our dev is asking for some more elaborate PC specs, could you send a dxdiag file?
And it could be a permission issue, could it be that somewhere in your Windows settings your mic is being blocked somehow? Perhaps a firewall or anti virus setting?
I think my Discord client has an issue. I cannot upload my DxDiag.txt file. I've sent it via e-mail in the same thread, I hope you can get it this way.
We were able to play (we're both spawning in our respective rooms (although I can't say how the room of my friend looks like)) and we both can communicate with the talkie-walkies. But at some point (under 3 minutes) the game crashes. I'm not sure what I could check in the FW. I only run Defender as an AV. About the microphone, I have peculiar setup, but it didn't cause any issue in WWE (the first game).
I do run with an unprivileged user, but since no UAC window opens when launching the game, I guess it has all the required permissions. I probably wouldn't run a game privileged anyway, and none of the other games I play requires that (except their launcher, during an update).
Ok so you can double check if you got your mic allowed for this application:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/turn-on-app-permissions-for-your-microphone-in-windows-10-94991183-f69d-b4cf-4679-c98ca45f577a
Learn how to give your Windows 10 PC to permission to access your microphone.
And try if another mic perhaps works
Launch the game as admin directly from the folder
Or perhaps this:
right click the exe. -> properties. "Run compatibility troubleshooter" or turn on compatibility mode for windows 8
If all of this doesn't work we're kind of running out of thoughts and then perhaps youll just have to use Discord to be able to communicate
The app does have access to the microphone. Do you know what API vivox is using ?
I doubt this is using a low-level API. If that is using the DirectSound API, it surely can't make the distinction between all my inputs, so this probably isn't where the issue lies.
As I said, I won't try to run the game as an administrator. The administrator is another user and I'm sure the game would write file in their UserProfile rather than mine.
I probably know less than your devs on this matter, but if the application doesn't trigger UAC it's probably because it doesn't need to be run as an admin, except for rare edge cases that, again, I never encountered for any of my games.
I'll try that
My friend is away. I'll try when possible then come back to you with the results.
Hum...

We all have the same issue, for the same game.
That didn't work either. And I asked my friend to do the same. We were both on Win8 compat mode.
It ran some tests. Now I can 100% reproduce the bug, and my friend too: spamming the "speak" key eventually make the game crash for the receiving end (doing nothing else: I don't have to move or do any other action, just spamming the "speak" key is enough). I wasn't able to make my side crash with that technique.
I'm now 100% sure the issue is related with the VC. Given the intermittent's bug nature I would say there is a race-condition somewhere that triggers it.
Logs probably aren't generated because of the error, which looks a lot like a SEGV. I wouldn't recommend anyone from running the game as an admin given the nature of the error that might also cause a security issue.
To players: if you want to play the game, do not use in-game VC.
And if you're like me and think it is inexcusable a core game mechanic issue isn't being investigated, ask for a refund.
Don't unnecessarily spam other bug reports with your issue please, issues on PC are very complicated as everyone uses a different setup, different internet, different providers, rules per country, so on and so forth. So a crash for one person might not be the same crash as for another person so I don't want to spread any confusion
I will forward your info above to our dev so they can look into reproducing this bug, but keep in mind that the majority of people can play the game and use voice chat with no issues so it doesn't immediately mean there are issues with the voice servers
alright i will try that with my friend
I'm not 100% sure about the two users I pinged. But this guy #1159216822697070732 message surely has the same issue. SEGV within the vivoxsdk.dll.
To be honest I'm a big annoyed by the fact you suggested to casually run the game in admin-mode when we're confronted to a SEGV error. To be fair, there is very little chance this ends up being a security issue, but still, better have best practice than not.
By the way: When I say "you", I'm not targeting you as an individual, but TGM (and frankly, the whole industry in general with the bullsh*t troubleshooting that is always the same ("check files integrity", "run as admin", "disable firewall" and other like that) and doesn't address "real" issues. I do understand this filter 90% of bug reports, but still, this is annoying to me.).
Thanks for escalating the issue
I hope it works for you as well
we will see..
in the gamefiles i saw this .exe
maybe it can fix a issue, idk tbh we didnt tried that until now because i found this like yesterday or so. i think it COULD help because when the game crashes we get an unity error. if it helps i will text it in "my" thread
I believe this is just the software that sends diagnostics to developers/Unity. It's here to observe crashes rather than fix them. But it is still useful !
Understandable, but we always want to make sure people first tried the common solutions which usually fix most peoples problems, yesterday for example, someone said they did (but in the end turned out they didnt) check all common solutions, I ended up spending a lot of time trying to help this person, and in the end I repeated a common solution which fixed it... :p so a lot of time can be saved if players try these first, that's why we always give these basic solutions to players. But if these don't work, our devs look into the player log files. So we're not just telling you bulls*** I actually made one of our devs manually look at your bug report and your log files to propose previous solutions I sent to you, including the administrator one. But know that we only have 2 devs that have the advanced knowledge to look into these things and help with bug support, and there's tons of other issues they're working on + other work related things they need to do + work on upcoming games. So for a small studio like us this manual work all takes up a bit more time. Hopefully that clears things up a bit.
I actually made one of our devs manually look at your bug report and your log files
Indeed, and I thank you for that
we only have 2 devs that have the advanced knowledge to look into these things and help with bug support
I support them 💪

I know that very well. I'm sorry, I realise I've seemed harsh.
